PLEASE HELP! Paint, curtains, decor
Comments (19)I think it would look good to have a rust-colored, patterned rug (wool if possible!) and neutral walls. Check out these Benjamin Moore colors and see what you think: “Balboa Mist”, “Sheep’s Wool”, “Collingwood”, “Classic Gray” I wouldn’t do an accent wall, but I am confused by your fireplace, and how the stone stops underneath the mantel. Perhaps consider a simplified mantel that wouldn’t leave a gap there - just a chunky beam all the way across. Then choose a chunky wood coffee table that coordinates with your mantel. And add a large basket for throw blankets, which will add texture/softness. Perhaps charcoal flat Roman shades for your windows? Hope those ideas are helpful!...See MoreShould my shower curtain and window shade match?
Comments (8)Sheeisback- thanks. I love the idea of coordinating with a trim. Something about matching was making me pause.. Nancy- thank you. The countertop will almost certainly be some type of solid surface in an almost white color. The floor tile I’m considering is honed, and I’m not a spotless, shiny surface type of person, so etching doesn’t bother me at all. I feel like the beauty of marble can handle imperfections here and there; I really am into surfaces that look used! But on the other hand, an obvious stained area near the toilet does sound horrible! All that said.. I don’t hate the idea of porcelain, but I can’t find any marble look in a small mosaic like I want; either basketweave or this octagon and dot. So if I decided against this it would be plain white small mosaic of some kind, most likely. And I love the look of the marble with cherry vanity as in my first pic in the op....See MoreHelp decorate bedroom around geometric curtains
Comments (55)UPDATE: Thank you, everyone, for all your help!! I mostly went shopping in my house, and changed things up a bit: 1. moved in blue-ish rug from desk area; got rid of ugly beige ombre rug 2. moved in dining room chair I wasn't using anyway; it's not awesome but it's better than the folding chair ;) and my mom made the quilt when I was a teenager, so... 3. moved in blue blanket from den 4. framed/hung watercolors my MIL gave me for Christmas -- not exactly what had been envisioning, but I love them and they are free ;) 5. new: big monstera plant from Trader Joe's of all places; it surprisingly seems pretty happy here 6. new: blue and white duvet cover (Overstock); blue bedskirt (Macy's); blue geometric pillow (HomeGoods) Eventually it would be nice to add an upholstered bench under the pics, and get bigger bedside tables + lamps -- but I don't want to spend the $$ on that right now. Overall, I'm happy with the room, and appreciated all the suggestions!...See MoreCurtains, blinds and decor! Help!! Mark up if possible
Comments (20)Are those ceiling mount? You should be able to do that with the shades as well. You could do outside mount and have them mounted on the wall, not inside the sill space. You can also get a single wide valance with multiple shades, but I'm not sure how long the valance/mounting piece can be. This is where I bought all my woven shades a couple years ago. You can also call or chat with someone to help you decide the best look for hanging them. Wait for at least 40% off sale though https://www.blindsgalore.com/...See MoreHockeymom
