OT Swine Flu Vaccine may cause Killer Nerve Disease
Comments (11)I got both of them this autumn, the seasonal flu shot in September and the H1N1 in October when I worked at a City Flu shot clinic. No problems with either one. I get a flu shot every year. I work every day with very vulnerable people. Having had the flu before, I NEVER want it again, and I certainly don't want to pass the flu on to someone who might die from it. Yes, there are risks, as there are with anything we do, but the risks from a flu shot, or any other immunization are very, very small, considering the millions of people who get immunizations every year. Several years ago I got both the flu shot and the Pneumovax and 4 days later I had shingles. It might have been too much of a jolt to my immune system (but it might have had nothing to do with the immunizations), but with quick medication, I got through it with minimal discomfort. In the future, I'll continue to get both vaccines, just not at the same time. It's the non-immunized who spread disease - whether it's a preventable childhood disease or influenza. Non-immunized children pass measles, rubella, whooping cough, etc, to children frequently too young to have been immunized. These diseases can still kill children. My SIL was not allowed to get his smallpox vaccination before he left home for his deployment in Iraq because of the risk to both kids. I agree with igloochic, if you are not going to get flu shots, stay away from others if you feel sick, don't assume it's not the flu, the risk is too great to other people....See MoreSo now I am sick....
Comments (52)Morz8...yes, I promised I would go to ER if I feel any worse, get a higher fever, cough more/deeper, etc. I only live 4 blocks from hospital and my son and wife live across the street from me and they would be here in a heartbeat to take me. I have seen so many go to hospital and get staff or strep infections, so I really do not go unless absolutely necessary. Chisue, I don't seem to be coughing as much or as hard tonight...so maybe things are settling down some...but when I do cough, it is painful across my back, but part of that might be sore muscles because of the extremely hard coughing I did for several days. I have an aerosol inhaler that I am to use 3xdaily. My oxygen level was 94 today. I am just hanging out...taking it easy...and I believe better days are coming...but I know I will probably have a lingering cough and fatigue for quite some time. Thanks for thinking of me and wishing me well....See MoreHusband update
Comments (42)Get lots of hibiclens and everyone in the house use it every time you bathe or shower! Wash bedding, clothing etc with bleach. I had to go through these procedures multiple times with the recurring staph infections! Once I got it down and understood the importance of everyone following the protocol we were able to completely rid it from our selves and home. (some people are carriers) CVS and Walgreens do have their own brand of the hibiclens which is a little cheaper and works great. I still keep it in my shower and use it from time to time. I hope to never experience another staph in my life! The last one was the size of a large grapefruit in my thigh. Good luck with his continued recovery. Always good to be back home....See MoreSenior dosage flu shots
Comments (73)I got mine today... when I called the grocery store pharmacy to see if I needed an appt she said no. I asked if they were busy with people wanting them she said yes. I told her I was coming on my lunch hour, so she took my info over the phone to help expedite me when I got there. Nice! Anyhow, she said she had to ask me a delicate question... how old am I? I didn't ask why she was asking, but thanks to this post, this is probably why! I laughed to myself about the "delicate" question - I'll tell anybody my age, but I was afraid it might be how much do you weigh? Now that's a delicate question!...See More- 4 years ago
