A rabbit pushing its luck..
Comments (18)Just a few comments about postings here: ---I'd grown up with the advice to be wary of dressing out wild rabbits before the first freeze. Getting their blood in a small sore can cause rabbit fever- ---Moc, if your hawk is a Redtail it is the young-uns that have the brown streaks in the breast feathers. Adults are all white. ---Redtails LOVE to eat wabbits. But they have to be really hungry to eat squirrel. There are falconers in Arkansas who hunt squirrels with Redtails. They put metal leggings on their hawks because squirrels are hard to kill and try to bite the hawks feet off. Apparently it is not the squirrels taste that makes the bird cautious. Redtails favorite foods are mice, snakes and lizards. Anyway LW, if and when you, or anyone else, does catch a wabbit and kill it, be very careful and use latex or similar gloves. Comments (34)Not sure if this is good or bad luck. After I typed the above I went to the kitchen to feed the dogs, and when I looked down I saw what appeared to be a bit of cat throw-up. I grabbed a paper towel and scooped it up, and since I always look to make sure the throw-up is normal, what I picked up was a half dead scorpion in a little bit of dust! DS sprayed between the dishwasher and cabinet where I saw spiders come out of, so the scorpion must have walked through the barrier line. I can't believe I didn't get stung, the poison must have gotten his tail first. :) We don't spray where animals or humans walk....See MoreDon't forget to rabbit rabbit!
Comments (40)I messed up this month and my luck so far? While in town today, I turned into a parking lot and heard a thump so I knew I hit something. I parked and looked and there was a bolt embedded in the tire! So offf to Wal-Mart to get it fixed. Now tonight as I'm laying in bed I heard the furnace click on, run a few seconds then turn off but now it is running ok....fingers crossed! But I always think, things could be worse! :)...See MoreDon't forget: rabbit rabbit! Tomorrow is June 1st!
Comments (17)I didn't remember until up and reading this, but DH was still asleep and I hadn't spoken yet. Said my rabbit, rabbit. I should be good for this month too - this a few months in a row I've somehow managed ;0)...See MoreOakley
