*Freestanding* tub filler with OVERHEAD shower - is it even possible?
Comments (8)Thanks so much for commenting! I would love to consider a wall-mounted extension arm as an option, but I haven't been able to find one that is long enough. If you have suggestions for sourcing, please let me know. Also, we're moving to more modern-looking chrome fixtures, and the freestanding options that I'm finding are either rather Victorian or the handshowers have a shape that really is not conducive to using as an overhead shower (e.g. see attached photo for the most common modern option). If we can source an extension arm, do you think we would be able to replace the handshower with a more functional option and replace the attached tube (so it can reach the extension arm)?...See MoreHelp finding cheaper alternatives for freestanding tubs
Comments (8)Make sure you and your husband sit in several of these in a showroom. They can be difficult to get in and climb out of, due to the oval shape with high sides. Keep in mind the slippery when wet factor. You don’t want to end up with a very expensive floor ornament you don’t use cause it’s a pain to get in and out of. Also, the freestanding plumbing pipes coming out of the floor is one more thing to clean around. I like a drop-in tub that is undermounted to sit within a built-up deck structure. Easier to climb in and out of. And, I like me a glass of wine and candles with a hot bath on a winter night, and the deck provides a place for them. If you want it to be a high-end installation, have the deck and surround be marble....See Morefreestanding air jetted tub/tub studio
Comments (6)We are not in full remodel mode but my jetted tub is partially dismantled. I took a pic of what it looks in the front. Since there are jets on the opposite side, I’m guess there’s piping on the back as well. When all done the tub will be covered with a tile or stone front. I can’t say is impossible, just saying can’t imagine hiding it with a stand alone....See MoreSignature Hardware Winifred Resin Freestanding Tub - Matte Finish
Comments (12)I was seriously looking at that same bathtub but opted for this one instead (cheaper): https://90210kitchenbath.com/avalon-59/ I cannot speak highly enough of the folks at 90210 Kitchen and Bath (even though they have a silly name) and their incredible customer service. I live in Colorado, but was in LA for a business trip and went to the "showroom" (pretty much a warehouse), where they opened a crate with "my" tub in it. I tried it out Yes, it's made in China, but I would NOT call it cheapo. It is high quality and just stunning. I ordered it a few weeks later and it literally arrived in 48 hours, all 400 lbs. Wow. I was shocked. How could that be so fast? But there it was, and the delivery company placed it in my garage. My bathroom is nearly complete and I'll share pics when it is. The tub is the focal point, and I am so delighted! I ordered a few things (shower, linear drain & tub filler) from Signature Hardware & was equally impressed with their service, but the opportunity to save $600 (plus actually "trying the tub out") made the KB 90201 purchase a no-brainer. KB 90201 buys in bulk, mostly for contractors & passes the saving on. I saw their vanities when I was in their showroom/warehouse (excellent quality) & I hope to buy one or 2 when I re-do other bathrooms in my 29 yr old home. Good luck!...See Morecaphillgal
