Acrylic or Cast Iron Freestanding Tub?
Comments (18)Posted by landngarage (My Page) on Tue, Jul 17, 12 at 5:39: Curious if anyone knows of a larger version of something like this "traditional" free-standing tub? It's a 64".... We worked with these folks (Bath of Distinction) & they were wonderful to deal with. Prices are very competitive. We were lucky enough to visit their warehouse near Tampa & got a first hand touch & feel tour of each of the bathtubs we were interested in. Includes Faucet, Drain & Supply Lines also which a lot of other places charge you $500+ in addition to the tub. Free delivery & great warranty & customer service. Check out the link below for a 67" single slipper resembling your request. There is also a 59" & 73" sizes also. Also check out the size chart link for how it would look inside the tub @ various sizes. (http://www.bathsofdistinction.com/size_chart_s/143.htm) Here is a link that might be useful: Baths of Distinction 67 Single Slipper...See MoreAny thoughts on free standing tubs?
Comments (22)Doing a renovation for a flip, and the free-standing soaking tub seems to be the current trend for the master bath, but I've not done one before and this discussion has been very helpful! It appears that I need to tile up the wall about 3' and add a shelf - anything else I should plan for? [Sorry for the silly question, but I'm more a shower person - I'm assuming there's no place for the soap, b/c you shower first then just soak in the tub?]...See MoreHas anyone bought anything from Signature Hardware?
Comments (41)After reading through all these comments, I was concerned about the quality of SH. I looked up the spec sheet on the faucet I am interested in buying and it has the following certifications: cUPC ASME A11.18.1 NSF/ANS I61 NSF/ANSI 372 ICC/ANSI A117.1 This covers, among other things: lead free, safe for drinking, supply fittings. In fact, they address lead free specifically in their FAQs: " All Signature Hardware kitchen and bathroom sink faucets are compliant with lead regulations determined by the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). This includes NSF/ANSI 61 (to meet North American drinking water standards) as well as AB1953 (to meet California drinking water standards). They are safe to use, as required by law, and undergo a rigorous testing and inspection process before being authorized for sale. We are also proud to stand behind our products with our warranty. " And their faucets have a 25 year warranty. I couldn't find anything about where they manufacture, but even if assembled here, I'm sure there are parts that come from China. You'll be hard pressed to find an all American made & assembled product of any sort. Many of the concerning posts were from years past so it looks like SH has made improvements since then. I will go ahead with my plan to purchase faucets for my kitchen reno. Fingers crossed!...See MoreThoughts on this plan for lakefront build?
Comments (135)Congratulations on moving in, it’s always exciting moving into a new home! My husband and I built 4 houses over the years, (although none were quite like yours) it’s a lot of work and it seems like moving day will never come, but when it does it’s so exciting and so worth the wait! Your home is absolutely beautiful, you and your wife did an amazing job, kudos to the both of you! Wishing you many years of happiness and memories with your family in your new home!...See MoreUser
