Downdraft induction cooktops

We're looking to replace an old JennAir electric stove with induction. The downdraft on the JennAir works pretty well, and I'd love to keep that design.

It seems that induction cooktops with built-in downdrafts are quite popular in Europe (e.g. Miele, Bosch, and more) but they really don't exist in the US. The only one I've been able to find here is the Elica NikolaTesla, but it is quite pricy.

Is there an expectation that these downdraft cooktops will become more popular any time soon? I don't have the counter depth for a telescoping hood, and venting overhead would be difficult (the stove is on a wall, but it's not an exterior wall, and there's a second story above).

Anyone in a similar situation? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
