Your Opinions? Have safety switches gotten too extreme?
Comments (33)"Stupid people will always manage to break something or hurt themselves or someone else." For every moron out there that rides around with their baby on their lap there are plenty of smart people that occasionally make mistakes. Personally I sometimes let my mind wander and maybe that label or that lever I pull is enough to keep my brain on track. Maybe I should have one of you perfect people that never make a mistake operate my OPE to save me and my family from my imperfect self. Go ahead and take off the switches, levers and labels and let all the stupid people chop themselves up so they don't polute your perfect gene pool....See MoreIf you have a Wolf AG range/oven I would love your response.
Comments (3)We have had problems. We first purchased a Wolf range in summer 2007, and ended up having the burner issue while oven was preheating/in use that others started reporting during that autumn. We decided to stay with the Wolf AG range, and waited out their research into the problem and eventual fix for it (they sent out two replacement ranges during that time frame; one that was eventually replaced with the one we currently have). Once in a great while, a burner will balk at lighting if we try to light it just as the oven starts up, but it will then light up after waiting a few moments. Since this happens very rarely, we are okay with it. Obviously, if it started to happen with any frequency or regularity, we would not be as happy. The oven floor continued to "tin can" (make loud popping and cracking sounds) long after the break-in period, and after some time, one of the door hinges was not holding the door closed well along one side (allowing steam and condensation to build-up on the outside of the door edge and the frame), so we called Wolf and they replaced both a year or two ago (they had extended our warranty because we stuck with them while they worked on a solution to the burner problem). Despite the issues, we are happy with the range (though I still wish the oven could hold full size sheet pans!). Wolf's customer service addresses issues when they are called, and they send out their own, authorized service companies to work on the range (even sending out a more seasoned/knowledgeable svce tech after the prior tech did not correctly dx or resolve the problems). I was disappointed to hear about the impending redesign. If we ever have to move, my Wolf AG will be coming with me!...See Morehave you gotten anything from your wish list lately?
Comments (16)I don't need it....nothing....don't need anything more.... BUT....today I went to the $ store because I needed several gift bags....and while I was there...I just had to walk around...and bought 3 glass pinch bowls...I was getting along just fine with custard cups...but... AND I got a new dishwasher last week...but that was because my 22 year old trusty Maytag died. I know better then to buy one of the newer Maytags (the ex CEO was a very good friend and next door neighbor and when he made all those trips to China and Japan, I figured it out!).. Anyhow I got a Jenn Aire....I know they are in the business of down draft vent systems....but it's a hotsy totsy model, likely last years but I made the dealer an offer...prepared to up it....and he said OK. Surprise! But its' not "fun" in the way that a new stock pot would be...I still am trying to figure out the best way to load the thing! Also got 2 new YeehaH stoves for the church...I bucked the people who said why do we need to spend that for stoves.....and I splained why!! Because I cook on them and you don't! I think I need new potholders.....mine are beyond awful...and people give me oven mits and I feel clumsy using them, so I save them for the grill. I Have a fairly nice assortment of Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's day potholders...but I need some simple every day ones that don't have burned corners and the stuffing hanging out.
