What size Mirror is recommended?

Finishing the details of my bathroom Reno. Make up vanity is 30 inches high and my wall tile is 16 inches high from counter. The Vanity is 60 inches wide. My tile install was placed to high and now I can not see myself while sitting. The mirror that was hung yesterday is bothering me . Should I go with rectangle mirror or wall to wall ?

I went wall to wall with different treatments above the "vanity" portion versus the sink portion.

For close up detail work, it is still helpful to have some type of magnifying mirror that you can use close to you. I have the Simple Human counter mirror which works really well but you could also have a wall hung mirror on the side like hotels sometimes have.

If you are seating - which is the purpose of having a vanity area - you can't lean over the counter to get a close up of the mirror on the wall. It is great for stuff that doesn't need close ups like hair as well as getting an overall feel but - at least for my stuff - I need a close up mirror for eye makeup, tweezing etc.

Now that Grover has “opened the door”, I will mention my thought when I asked about the room which you have described as your dining room. I was a bit afraid to throw this idea out there for fear of possibly being musically boorish, but ...might you consider giving the piano its own room with a pretty chandelier above and bay window, maybe adding some plants via your current dining space? — I thought maybe you could enlarge the arched opening to the living area slightly ( or not) . Then use a SMALL ( round ?) dining grouping in the space currently occupied by the yellow chair/ toward that window wall next to the fireplace. — You could possibly add the pew to “the piano room “of sorts. This would leave lots of space in the living area for your bookcase along your stair wall, and sofa and chairs in the front and fireplace area.

What size prep sink do you recommend?

@2rickies….. the faucet is made by Waterstone (their Gantry style). They also have contemporary versions. Their faucets are quite pricey though! Whichever brand you choose, I would highly recommend one with an articulating arm with a pretty far reach…especially since you are planning such a large sink. The beauty of an articulating faucet is that you can position the spout over virtually any spot in the sink, whereas with the normal unjointed arm, all it does is swivel in a fixed arc. Difficult to explain, so hope it makes sense. If you do a web search for articulating faucets, several will come up. We are on septic as well and have never had a problem having disposals. I am an avid gardener and compost most items, but it’s nice to have the disposals for the odds and ends that happen to fall down the drain. Since you’re a two person/cook kitchen, I would definitely consider a fairly decent size for that prep sink. And really give thought to a second dishwasher by the prep sink even if its simply a single dishwasher drawer. I am constantly moving dirty utensils and prep dish items over my kitchen isles (dripping all the way!) to get them to the dishwasher. Closeup of the faucet shows the articulating arm much better…
