Calling all hoya lovers
Comments (36)I like vampire stuff too, most ghost stories as well, especially real old ones. I read some Anne Rice, but I felt that she could never top The Vampire Lestat, and I really didn't read much of her stuff past that one. One of my favorite vampire stories is "Carmilla" - not really a short story, more like a novella, written by Sheridan LeFanu. The story centered around a female vampire and her female victim, which I think caused a bit of a scandal in it's time. The author died in 1873, so the story must have been written before Dracula. ...sorry all, vampires and hoyas do not mix....though actually some hoyas only have a strong scent AT NIGHT and might even be pollinated by moths and SMALL BATS...so maybe there IS a connection between vampires and hoyas.... Those little white hanging pots are great, though - only 5" and that isn't so much bigger than what you are using now...and they are great "trainers" for little plants that aren't ready for the "big" 6" baskets. I am all out of them, I have one left, I need to order some but I would like to try to find them in dark green....See MoreOT? Calling all dusting powder lovers...
Comments (11)Joanie - Hmmm. I don't go poof poof flap flap with the powder puff. I sort of place the powder on the puff and gently apply it with as little waving around the puff in the air as possible. Am very aware of the dust factor, just as you are. There isn't much dust, just some around the vanity sink and on the shelf in the medicine cabinet where the J&J lives. I wipe that up with a microfiber cloth or tissue or paper towel, whatever is nearby. Don't even think about it any more. Do you know about microfiber cloths? They have revolutionized my housekeeping; I keep them stashed out of sight in every room in the house. Wet or dry, one swipe and the problem is gone. Machine washable, line-dry, they last and last....See MoreApril Lotto- Calling all kitty lovers!

Comments (29)An old Martha Stewart color from Sherwin Williams called Pemetic Trail 8081. No chips at SW but for $7 you can get a Color To Go jug to sample it. You can get a full spectrum version from Ellen Kennon, it's called Powdered Pebbles. And, yes, chips and pics will pop up in Google searches. But I'm sure you know by now that you can not judge color by what you see on your monitor, phone, tablet, etc. It's impossible for a device to duplicate paint colors. Impossible because devices emit colored light to your eyeballs. Which is completely different from how in real life color works. In real life color, like paint chips, is reflected to your eyeballs. You should never, ever use a monitor or screen of any kind to evaluate or compare paint colors. You must get a chip. Tapestry Beige by the way is from the middle of the yellow hue family. Here's the color notation: Hue 4.43 Y / Value 8.40 / Chroma 1.06 Middle of the yellow hue family means it's a good ways away from the Green-Yellow hue family and its overtones of green. It has a chroma more than one which is another indicator that it's unlikely to show an edge of greeness. But the inherent quality of light ultimately decides what it's going to look like. Grab a chip or sample and see what it looks like in your space....See Moreweedyacres
