Samsung hasn’t gotten a lot of love around here for a while. But I am nontheless surprised they would piss off a company as influential as yours. We recently got a full refund on our crappy Samsung fridge, but it was done via the Lowes’ extnded warranty plan. Gotta say, Lowes was very fair about it. Sorry Samsung was not.

"We had a dishwasher that leaked due to a defect in the liner. We made a claim under the warranty for a replacement dishwasher expecting Samsung to send us a replacement.

"Samsung reneged on its warranty, offering to settle initially for slightly over $50, and finally for the original purchase price of just over $500.00. As a replacement dishwasher with the same or better features cost substantially more, we declined the offer."

This is the relevant text of the Samsung warranty for the Samsung DW80R9950UG, it's most expensive and steel-tub dishwasher:

• "One (1) year parts and labor
• "Five (5) years Linear Motion Parts*, Printed Circuit Board, Racking and Stainless Door Liner & Tub for leakage (Parts Only)
• "During the applicable warranty period, a product will be repaired, replaced, or the purchase price refunded, at the sole option of SAMSUNG." (emphasis added)

Samsung had no obligation to pay for a dishwasher "with the same or better features" but just to refund the purchase price, which it offered to do. Assuming the warranty on your appliance had these conditions, Samsung did not "reneg on its warranty". You didn't like the terms of its warranty.

Our local chain of appliance stores has quit carrying Samsung because of the difficulty of getting repairs. That said a lot to us, and we crossed Samsung off our list.

Alas, you have the wrong dishwasher. For the dishwasher in dispute, the warranty, in relevant part, is

"One (1) Year All Parts and Labor, Five (5) Years Printed Circuit Board, Racking (Labor Charges for in-home service starting from the 2nd year is customer’s responsibility), and Lifetime Stainless Door Liner & Tub for leakage. Samsung will replace your unit with same or current model (that is better or equivalent in functionality)"

Please note that @M Miller has no idea what she's talking about though that doesn't prevent her from talking about it a lot.

^^This from the person who posted the warranty for the wrong appliance 😆, and who sidesteps entirely the fact that a dishwasher had a defect in the liner.

Now, now kids, play nice or you will have to get out of the sandbox.
