We have had the Elux Icon Designer Series 30" Single oven/convection oven for 5 years now, Totally trouble free, including the install. The same goes for the Speed oven, except I had to have the screws that mount the handle on the speed oven tightened and added lock washers. That is our most used cooking allpiance. We also have Elux Wine Fridge and it has been trouble free. About a year ago now we had to replace a radiant cooktop (not Elux) with the 30" Elux induction cooktop. That thing is amazing, Boils water 8 cups in about 4 mins (Twice as fast as a gas 18K burner) great & immediate controllability, (119 degree simmer even on largest, 10" burner) and when you turn it down it ceases boiling, "straightaway". Very easy to clean--usually we cover the cooktop with paper towels when you use it, especially when frying bacon or simmering spaghetti sauce---so "cleanup" is toss the paper towels. It is also completely silent (Using Emeril-ware clad pots and pans) and in fact I have yet to hear the fan come on. We did buy the Miele DW, and a Jenn-air 48" built in panelled fridge--as we were not the "Matchie Matchie" type. We prefer to pick the appliances that "We think" will do the best job and with the features we wanted. Anyway after five years---It's like the guy who jumped from the 20 story building and shouted as He reached the 10th floor, "So Far So Good"!!!! Good luck on your new Kitchen appliances!!! Gary

I did a "budget" kitchen with GE Profile appliances about 10 years ago. I was actually very happy with them! We didn't choose a Profile fridge, either, it was the piece that got squeezed by the budget too. We ended up choosing a basic one, bottom freezer, no ice/water, I think it was Amana or Maytag but the handles were the same style and it was just fine. I smiled every time I looked at it because it worked well and cost well under my budget. :)

You won't find many reviews on the Samsung built in cooking products as they quite literally just released them and some are still not even shipping yet. Personally, I would look at Electrolux or Frigidaire Gallery. While not as "glitzy" as the Samsung products, they are priced better, and IMO better built. Unfortunately, JD Power and Consumer Reports weren't set up to accurately score home appliances. These are ratings systems that were originally made for automobiles. The Korean manufacturers have taken advantage of their survey system by purposely releasing "new" models every 3-6 months, even when the new model bears little difference to the one its replacing. This helps them skew the surveys to come out overwhelmingly good and get their products ranking higher. They are talking to people who've only had the appliances a few months, not a year or more. Firms like LG and Samsung figured out that Consumer Reports and JD Power are not going to list and rank an appliance model that is already "discontinued". So its easy, they just discontinue the appliances before the surveys start to pick up the true service call frequency. On the flip side, brands like Electrolux and Frigidaire (and almost ALL of the high end brands) do not change models every quarter. In fact, they rarely change them even in the course of one year, and thus the surveys are hitting consumers who've had the appliances much longer term and thus they score lower as they start to find consumers that have experienced service calls. Even though, in the real world, they may be functioning far better off than their Korean competitors. I don't want to discourage you from the new Samsung built-ins, they may very well turn out to be great machines, but there is not enough info about them yet as they were literally just released and the big name surveys will likely hide their true service call rate. ... EXACTLY! After throwing a fit, I finally got my appliances ordered last May on October 18. They substituted a SHarpe microwave because the LG is now on back order at Lowes! (the microwave IS available thru LG website however) And they substituted another model for my LG Range. It was a slightly more expensive model, so we didn't gripe, but it came with no racks, no installation package, no warranty info, no user manual, no air fry tray, no built in thermomter. I spent hours talking to LG AND to Lowes. Finally had to order the installation package myself at $71 and Lowe's is supposed to give me a gift card for that amount. Lowe's optional solution was to order a completely new range (which is out of stock now and not expected til after the new year). They OBVIOUSLY robbed Peter to pay Paul. During this whole process, I have spent 2 hours with my Lowe's designer selecting appliances that were "in stock" and endless hours on the phone reporting delivery damages, missing appliances, and trying to rectify errors.
