Has anyone ordered from Wayside Gardens
Comments (51)I wish I would have found this site earlier. The Wayside Gardens web site is awsome and they have some plants that I can't find at my local nursery or big box stores, however they are a bit pricey. I placed an order (April 2006), received it timely, excellent packaging, There after is where the problem starts! Two of the three plants arrived with the bottom half (and I do mean the whole bottom half) of the plants were covered with some type of leaf blight. The leaves were totally covered in brown spots with dark circles. The tops of the plants were a washed out green covered in some kind of brown fuzz. I called them immediately, and was told it was just some type of fungus plants get due to stress when they are shipped. That all I would have to do is buy some fungicide spray and they will be okay after a week or two. I disagreed with them as the damage was so extensive. They said they try to run very tight quality control, these must have slipped by and they would ship out replacements immediately. In the meantime I ordered some additional bulbs and a couple of more plants using a 15% off coupon they sent. The website said they gave free upgrade shipping, however when I entered the code for the 15% off coupon, the site then added back the additional charge for upgrading the shipping which just happened to cancel out the 15% off. The site would not let me delete or cancel the upgrade . I called again and was promised by the customer rep that he would remove the additional charge and submit the order for processing. The next day I received the replacement plants for the first order. Guess what...... They were in the exact same condition as the plants they were sent to replace. I called again. A different customer gave me the explanation I got the first time and said they could give me an in store credit. I responded that that wouldn't work, but I had another order they could credit. She pulled the order up to apply the credit and surprise, surprise...the first rep did NOT credit the account for the extra shipping charges. I was upset about it all evening and called the next day to cancel the order and get my money back. The third rep once again explained that the horticulturist (???) said the problem was due to wet conditions in the warehouse and shouldn't affect the plants other than they didn't look pretty, I should just spray them. I insisted on cancelling the order, he then said he would try but since it was already into processing he couldn't guarantee the cancellation!! Save your money...... buy somewhere that doesn't play games with their customers....See MoreOrdered Kraftmade from Lowes, had on Hold, but got built?
Comments (1)While KM will delay production, they won't do it indefinately. 6 months is about the limit I've ever seen them allow anyone to push out delivery. Your order was considered finalized the moment the factory received it. You don't get to change your mind 8 days later, much less 8 months later. You couldn't even make minor changes to a submitted order without completely canceled the first order and submitted an entirely new order---which would be subject to the promotion limitations in effect at that time, NOT the promos for your first order. A final design is just that. No changes. Now, if you need to change a cabinet or filler in order to make the cabinets you ordered actually fit your now constructed space, Lowe's will probably work with you to get you what you need. However, if you need to return anything, you will be charged a restocking fee....See Morehas anyone ordered cabinets from the 'amish loft?'
Comments (45)Well, they never told me that policy! They said the final payment was due at delivery, which I made... but when I quickly discovered the problems and became concerned that they didn't seem too willing to respond favorably to correct things, I placed a "stop payment" on the check. Of course, that only worked because they told me too late that they expected a bank check (Saturday afternoon when delivery was on a Sunday), which is what they originally wanted. In any event, I certainly wouldn't have felt comfortable making any final payments before I had even seen any cabinets! I wouldn't have appreciated being contacted by the cabinetmaker, either! You're right -- you and I contracted with THEM to handle everything with the cabinetmaker. They should be able to make their cabinetmakers correct everything without involving you more than is necessary. And I also didn't appreciate the delays in delivery (the cabs ended up being about 3 weeks late), but I've come to believe that's not uncommon with custom cabinetry either. I'm sorry you had a difficult time. I still would love to see pictures of your kitchen... does it resemble the painted cabinets on their website? Those are so pretty! I do still believe their cabinets have a somewhat unique look which I am still happy I went with. It seems you feel the same. bloomin......See MoreHelp! Comments (10)Well, here we sit again....cabinets delayed another week. Have e-mailed Lowe's store manager on 2 weeks ago, again 3 days later re-forwarded the e-mail saying I thought he may have missed it over the 4th holiday and then again one week ago. ZERO RESPONSE. Z-E-R-O! Can't believe how unprofessional this is! I get it people are busy but to just not respond to a customer who has spent $30,000 in your store! And my contract said all work would be done by early April! It is now mid-July and this part of the installation MAYBE will be complete next week, then after countertops are installed (another company) there has to be more measuring for some decorative panels that they suggested we don't measure for until after countertops are in. After a call to Lowe's corporate in which they "escalate" the situation and said the store manager will get this "Urgent Customer Care" email and he must respond within 24 hours....still NO response! UNBELIEVABLE! So have put in another call to Customer Service and now they escalate to the District Manager and I am supposed to hear from him within 24 hours. And by the way, Lowe's Credit Card (Synchrony) said that it just takes a call from a Store Manager and they can push this final payment out and extend the promo (6 months same as cash) on out beyond the original 6 months. I have pretty much done EVERYTHING else myself since I placed the order with no communication from their "install manager" or kitchen designer. I communicate with the installer directly now since the install manager also can't seem to return a phone call or place or follow up on the incorrect orders that keep getting placed. I communicate directly with Schuler (their Customer Service has been phenomenal!) to correct orders that are placed incorrectly---even after going over it several times and putting it in e-mails. Cabinets ordered the wrong size by and inch (at least 5 times), finished ends ordered on the wrong side of the cabinet, etc. Hopefully there is a district manager who can straighten this out and get these people to get this project finished!...See MoreBeth H. :
