The current arrangement does not appear to be the ideal solution. It looks like the bed and nightstand were just shoved aside to clean under the bed. If you are going to keep the bed angled, getting a round nightstand would be better than a square one. Since this is a guest, room one of the wide dressers could be eliminated and the bed placed on the big wall where the dresser now sits. I do realize that guest room dressers are often used for out of season storage so maybe you prefer to have two dressers and need them. In that case I would put drapes on the windows and put the bed in front of the window. The drapes would form a nice backdrop when closed and since the headboard is low the light and view would not be hidden when they are opened. This can look very nice. In fact some people even put up drapes behind the bed to give the illusion of a window where none exists. With a new furniture arrangement, I would put the lamp from the tall dresser on the nightstand and eliminate the two floor lamps by the bed. A lamp on a night stand is easier for someone to use while in bed and the floor lamps look a bit cluttery next to the bed. Put one of the floor lamps next to the chair and use the other one in another room. You have a very pretty room and I love your mix of furniture styles without going all "Shabby Chic" overload. I love your bold choice of wall color too.

whenicit, Thanks, but I need LOTS of help! The other advantage to the 2nd layout in BR1 is that the headboard is rather high and if I put it along the wall, it won't block the windows which would probably be better. I'll see about adding seating when I get the beds assembled. We may have room and it would give me a project to scour antique shops. That is what I'm planning on doing for a nightstand in the second bedroom. A little shabby/chic, beachy. I was going to look through some "Real Simple" magazines for inspiration. I'm not sure exactly what I want yet, but I though a "weathered" table, perhaps in a fun color, would go nicely with the iron bed. ajsmama, Thank you for the suggestion on BR1. I agree that swaping the nightstand is much better. On BR2, I think I could move the dresser closer to the door. The only think I actually don't like about the dresser in that position in general is that I'm not fond of the look of it from the side, but no mater how far forward or backward it is, I'm going to have that problem... Regardless of forever home or not it would make sense to utilize the closet better for all of your 'office' stuff so if that means getting an outlet put in there so the printer and all your stuff on the tall shelving can go in there - that would be wise. Then, daybed or not, replace the tall shelving and nightstand with a continuous low closed storage furniture piece - maybe like this photo - this will open up the room visually. This furniture piece can function as a nightstand and office storage. Closed storage is your friend in this space. Replacing the closet doors with slider doors would allow for the 'office' to function easier. Maybe the inside of the closet is converted to half 'closet' for guests use and half 'office' with shelves for printer and office supplies. Then, once you decide on daybed or not I'd repost an updated photo and we can help with rearranging art. I think where you have it now is not doing the room any justice. I could see it consolidated/edited on the wall where the tall shelving is as that will create a focal point.

Suggestions below are ideas vs a specific style or colors. You could look at inspiration pictures to decide what you are drawn to. I‘d move the pictures from above bed and replace with something that better compliments. Decide on your favorite color combination and layer bed. If you don’t mind losing the console, I‘d add a bench with cushions On either side of dresser, you could add large prints Re: window, it depends if you need privacy at all times. I would suggest going lighter and if curtains fit, they would frame the window. Imagine below with a bench. .
