Comments (27)Ok, Mr. Elmer J. Fudd, from now on you'd better never misspell a poster's name/screen name, and always properly capitalize their name/screen name. You've been guilty of misspellings and lack of capitalization many, many times. (And you were being a fuddy-duddy.) As for what I have or don't have, or buy or don't buy, as I've previously said, I do not have children (therefore, no grandchildren), so I have no drains on my income. What you are forced to pay out for your children/grandchildren is of no concern of mine, and what I pay out, and for whom it's purchased, should be of no concern of yours. I have no doubt that I am not the wealthiest person on this forum, just as I know I am not the poorest. I have never, and will never, pretend to be something I'm not, just to appease you or anyone else. If someone asks for opinions or recommendations on an item, I will not pretend to have a cheaper version just to avoid hurting someone's feelings. I'm sure the folks here already know that there are people of varying incomes/abilities/experiences, and anyone who gets their feelings hurt because of it really shouldn't be here....See MoreThose with curly hair, please step inside
Comments (85)I’m intrigued with the idea of using Cetaphil and it’s on my list. My hair fine, but thick with lots of body. For self preservation, I learned early to embrace the concept of studied disarray. When it was shorter I was able to scrunch it into curls but now that it is longer, I get more surface frizz and waves. I calm it down with “just the right amount” of product. After washing I clip it into a lose cross between French roll and messy bun while it dries. Here are the products I am currently using: I use two small pumps of this from mid lengths to ends. And a smidgen of this one rubbed on my palms with a few drops of water. This is the bun I put up and this is the almost dry result. Still wavy but calmed down. ETA: sorry for the humongous photos! I selected small and don’t know why they are so huge......See MoreBrush type hair dryer styler?
Comments (14)Previously, I was drying and styling my hair, with my blow dryer in one hand and a large round brush on each section of my hair, like a hairstylist would do, to get my hair nice and smooth. But now, I use my regular blow dryer (without using my round brush) to get about half the dampness dried. Then I use my Revlon brush dyer on 'cool' setting to dry the remaining dampness, while it styles at the same time. Using both appliances still cuts down on how long it used to take me, trying to tug my round brush taut enough to ensure my hair would come out smooth. The Revlon brush dryer can make it smooth in much less time, since I partly dried my hair first and am using it more for styling. I wish it weighed slightly less, as my blow dryer is very light weight, but I really only use if for a few minutes, so it's not that big of a deal....See MoreHave you used dryer sheets for pet hair?
Comments (12)If you don't use dryer sheets, do you use liquid softener? Dryer sheets are easier for me, and I've used them forever and so far so good. :) If they're repelling hair from our clothes you'd think I would have extra dog hair in the LR where they hang out, but there isn't any. I deduce they are being sucked from the dryer to the hose. lol I dunno, but I don't like seeing an empty lint basket. Using the dryer right now with a small load and lightweight. It's warm on top of the dryer like it should be (the cat loves sleeping there) but I think it's taking way too long. Want to hear what else happened? Last week the microwave stopped working. The dryer guy will be replacing the microwave. The electric H&A in the back of the house which warms the bedrooms is heating but not at full capacity. Temps in the hallway were 55 during last cold spell. Huge cold front coming on Wednesday so the guy better be here by then. Yesterday after DH loaded the backseat of his truck with a few hundred dollars of groceries, his newish truck would not start. DS came to the rescue to bring DH & groceries home. Truck in shop. So...no microwave, basically no dryer, no heat for the bedrooms, and no truck. Bet you can't top that!...See MoreRNmomof2 zone 5
