I've been having that issue with FB for about a week. It has to be a glitch with their site. I type a comment and nothing shows up for a minute or more. When I type it has to be slow to allow time for the letters to show.

That started happening to me yesterday! I could type a response to someone's else's reply to a post, but I couldn't reply directly to the post.

Last night there was one post that I couldn't reply to, nothing would show up in the comment box when I typed. But all the other posts seemed to be working just fine, and everything seems fine so far today. Although I hate to say anything, because every time I do, when I go back, everything seems messed up. We'll see. . . . . . .

What kind of device are you using? I never use Facebook on my phone - it has never worked properly for me there, especially when sending or receiving messages.

I now only use it on my desktop or laptop, and even then, only about once a month.

I have an unrelated question. This week there's finally been detailed 'insider' company information from Facebook showing how it deliberately structures itself to be psychologically harmful.

I've always considered it to be dangerous, lending some sort of 'published authority' to what is merely gossip. Current reports detail how it manipulates its users, many of them immature kids. It will use *any* means that results in more profit. More 'clicks' means more profit.

You know the old saw about not being able to always explain pornography -- or anything that crosses the line -- but you know it when you see it? I think Facebook has been allowed to go too far.

How painful would it be for you to boycott Facebook? (Loss of profit is all that matters there.)

well, at least I'm not the only one. I know my PC has been having issues but its been worse the last few days. Typing here is fine, no problems.

That is the central finding of a Wall Street Journal series, based on a review of internal Facebook documents, including research reports, online employee discussions and drafts of presentations to senior management.

Time and again, the documents show, Facebook’s researchers have identified the platform’s ill effects. Time and again, despite congressional hearings, its own pledges and numerous media exposés, the company didn’t fix them. The documents offer perhaps the clearest picture thus far of how broadly Facebook’s problems are known inside the company, up to the chief executive himself.

FB connects/connected me to some people and groups that would be difficult to access otherwise. But the price I pay for that service is getting higher all the time. Meaning, FB puts more and more utter trash on my news feed. The balance of "good" vs. "trash" is eroding.

Some times when I have problems with a site, I clear my cache and delete my cookies. You may have to sigh in again. I had that problem with HUHu. Couldn't get anything to work and that is what they had to do. Works like a charm now. Good Luck

What terrisoza describes just happened to me as well, a little while ago.

I'm guessing this glitch will be resolved in a day or so.

And actually, I've been having some issues with Chrome lately - very slow loading and frequently getting the 'aw snap' page and having to reload.

I’m not sure that I see all the same things you all do on Fb. I see hardly any ”news” stories. Very few ads. unless they are over on the margin where I never look anyway.

Me, I find Fb invaluable for community information in the closed groups I belong to.

Ad blockers are helpful. Do they work on phones and pads? I don't know. I rarely use a phone for web access. Why would I bother with a tiny screen vs. a nice widescreen monitor?

Edge? Chrome? Bah. I've used Firefox since it was in the 0.xx versions.

I have been having the same problem for a couple of days now too. Sounds like it's a Facebook problem and will resolve in a day or two. I have ad blocker too and it keeps ads from the sides but I do get posts from businesses. Easy to ignore.

Same here. Some comment boxes work OK, others don't (typing in the box -- nothing shows up).

No issues here on the .com site or the app on my android phone and tablet. On mobile devices you use the faceook app and the messenger app to send and receive facebook message, you don't go through the .com site on a browser for mobile devices. Sometimes I think if facebook has glitch it's in certain areas and not others. Mary
