Almost fininshed kitchen... need backsplash help! Pics...
Comments (5)Corgi_mom, thanks for the compliment! that last pic is our granite not a possible backsplash. Dianalo, I fell in love with the granite and actually designed everything else around it. :) I was also thinking white, I'm afraid to put too much color or design next to the granite. I like the look of tin but am afraid I might tire of it quickly. Jodi, I don't know much about marble but will look into it. Thanks to you all for the input!...See Moreanother backsplash help thread (pics)..help me design
Comments (12)With the red pendants and modern hardware, it looks like your style 'wants' mosaics. I think a mosaic would look great! I think you can do something bold on the b/s -- everything else is neutral, except for the pendants. I don't think it would look too masculine. Maybe use a more muted colour for the b/s to 'feminize' it a bit if you are concerned about it. On the other hand: I love the subways posted by kitchenaddict. However, I think the red pendants would look out-of-place with the subways. I don't know...what do you think? It just seems like mosaics would be a more natural fit in this kitchen....See MoreRaising my hand for backsplash help (pics)
Comments (14)Yay! This is great, thank you! Just to clarify, the tiles are from left to right: Horus Art Bianco Antico, Walker Zanger Gramercy Park Heirloom White and WZ Gramercy Park Pipe Smoke. They all are crackle tiles (for some reason the WZ heirloom white doesn't look very "crackly" in the picture. So far I am maybe thinking to do the combination with the WZ white framed above the range (yes, with a curve to mimic the hood, bethohio3!) and the pipe smoke everywhere else. I do worry that the pipe smoke just by itself will be a bit dreary (rhome)--and blend in with the surrounding wall color too much (cienza). As an aside, Sabjimata, I love your .23 cent tile in your kitchen! I am using that in my mudroom and master bath!...See MoreKitchen Finished Now Backsplash HELP. PiCS
Comments (29)we did a 6x6 travertine BS, but only on sink wall, not cooktop wall. cooktop wall did granite BS, same as counter. 6x6 is a larger format and IMHO looks so much nicer than a smaller tile....ours is not pink at all, so i guess u have to look around. we had no problem but it seems to be an issue on this forum... we have a very dramatic granite so we liked a quiet, rough looking BS and the un-honed travertine worked well. also, travertine is relatively cheap. some of the tile/glass/stone BS tiles are very expensive, so if that's a concern, travertine is great choice. good luck!!...See Morebarncatz
