Do YOU Think This House is Ugly? Shocked at responses
Comments (92)Agie9597- Did you build the Kousa Creek house? How was your experience? We purchased the plans several years ago but never built. I love the exterior and many parts of the interior. I was disappointed that the plans did not include all three levels of the home. As it was featured in Southern Living, only the top two floors were shown, but you could tell by some of the photos, especially the photo of the back elevation, that it is a 3 story home. We live in east Texas and may consider this home again....See MoreI found out my husband requested escort service.
Comments (151)For anyone who may be wondering if Chazlie is the norm, let me clarify. Chazlie is a classic case of a person who has been wounded at a crucial point in life - maybe more than once. He has a deficit of compassion, love and respect for women as a whole. He justifies his acting out by belittling those who live a life he cannot fathom, one of true intimacy and security. I can predict fairly easily that such a man does not have a partcularly close, loving relatioship with his own mother, and I would also guess that his wife struggles with some codependency. He would probably argue both these points, since it is so hard to look internally when such a deep pain exists. The brain works exceedingly hard to "feel good" - and such acting out (yes, it's acting out, it's not socially acceptable, reasonable, nor is it normal) - is an attempt to make up for the pain that exists mentally and emotionally. That is the ONLY reason people are self destructive - and yes, blocking real intimacy through multple partners and infidelity is without question self destructive. This is sad, no matter how you slice and dice it....See MoreWhat paint color for this ugly 1950's bathroom?
Comments (159)I will disagree that the seam will be obvious. Not if the pattern is matched properly. Moreover, the curtain will be large enough to have some gentle folds in it so the seam won't be noticeable. The other alternative is to do a double shower rod. The outer one is for the decorative curtain which can be smaller than a regular shower curtain and hangs there to add color and hide the plumbing and the waterproof curtain. The inner rod is for a waterproof curtain (white, clear, whatever) which slides the length of the tub for when in use. Mom did that in her bathroom where the fabric she loved was a remnant and didn't have enough to do the whole shower curtain. By doing so, you aren't limited to shower curtains, but can either make your own panel or buy any drapery panel you want of an appropriate length. In this example, they used the decorative fabric on either side with a pullback, but note the other rod underneath for the waterproof curtain. Here, the panels hang straight. Here is an example of a panel on just one side. Note the outer rod doesn't even reach the length of the tub....See MoreUgly Brick Ranch with small yard needs dimension and help!
Comments (19)You need shutters and pretty landscaping. The home down the street did a nice job of dressing the home and adding appeal. I don't know how long you intend on staying in the house, but based on the neighborhood, I would be cautious with renovation dollars if this is not your forever home. Think about the cost of every renovation and measure the cost against how much joy it will add while you are living in the home or how much that same money will add to your budget for your next home. You won't get back the same dollars you spend when you sell your home. Sales price determined by the sales price of homes in your neighborhood with similar square footage and number of bedrooms. There is some added dollars for updates, but not near what you spend. On average you will recoup 50 cents on the dollar and less if it is nicer than the other homes in the neighborhood (over improved for the neighborhood). The remainder is a gift to the new owner. The shed is over sized for the yard, but you will need some type of shed for lawn and garden equipment. It looks like it is in good shape. I would see how much I could sell it for and then see how much a new smaller shed will cost and see if you can get something for close to the amount you can sell the old one for....See MoreAphaea
