Nosoccermom, that is hilarious! I do like what k9arlene posted. However, out of the three that you last posted. Puterputz, I do like the #1 and #3.

This topic was great fun looking at all the choices! Since you may want guests that have been over to use the pool I think the flamingo curtain theme (whatever one you pick) works the best and is the most fun - great for conversation. If I every finally move to FL I have gotten lots of ideas from this. Thanks!

The saga continues....was going with no.1, but the blues just don't match up. It doesn't show in this picture, but in real life, the tile isn't the same, and even though its "fine" the color I decided to go with on the walls, and swore it was a lighter version, is actually greener...so, its not a lighter version after all. Which doesn't bother me by itself, but to put that blue curtain, that is neither the wall tile or wall color, just too much. I may go with all white curtain that has texture, those pleats, ect. UGH...

i like #1 the best from the picture, but if you don't like the blues in person, forget it!

#3 looks too juvenile to me- i like the idea of flamingos, but not those! i like any of the curtains that k9arlene shows much more!

#2 is just ok- lots of better choices, imo!!

Well, doggonit. How frustrated you must be. Trying to match the baby blue and baby pink tiles is a challenge. If you're going to go with white, I really like the first one jpmom posted back in January. I found a couple more on cafepress. The first one is probably not the right shade of pink. The second one is quite a hoot. :)

I also like the more "mature" possibilities karlene posted, or maybe the one zsmith linked to actually looked coordinating on my monitor *because* of the slight green you're seeing in your in your pale blue. If #1 looks too busy in person, it's not the right one. I'm not into matching colors exactly, but if you have a good eye (and care about such things as you obviously do), you know when the colors harmonize well together and when they don't. I know how frustrating it can be :-/

Ok, I FOUND IT! or so I thought. I sent the pictures to a friend that thought is was HORRIBLE! Laughing...she really liked #1 above (blue with print of pinks corals/orange) I told her that in person, the blues were different then both the tile and wall, and everytime I went to the bathroom and stared at the curtain it bothered me. SO, My curtain that I found has rows of blue color from lighter to dark.. just happens that the lighter matches the paint, the med, matches the tile, and I was going to attempt to find rugs to match the darker at the bottom. It does need the wrinkles to come out. So, Love or Hate?

Yes, and hopefully, it will only be a year or two before we can gut the place. Just trying to make it look the best, so that guests can use if needed.

I know you said the blues were not right, but really? With so many variations of blue in it and the pinks are perfect....Number ONE was the best choice by far. I thought it looked great with the darker blue. Love the whimsy of the Flamingos, but number one was wild AND sophisticated, Fun but mature. No to white paint, as someone said will make the fixtures and tile look dingy. I would paint the cabinet the same color you choose for your walls.

I am late tot he party but I agree the #1 with the blue and pink seems best. I do not like the flouncy one; it looks like an 80's prom dress. I know because i wore those.

It's too bad you can't find one with gradient blues in the flouncy one, because the colors look perfect. But I have to be a no to the ruffles, although I would have (or did I have one?) loved that in the 1970's!

I didn't read the thread carefully, so my apologies if these have been posted or if you had some specific criteria for shower curtain that I missed...but have you considered something like this with a mcm vibe?

I'd really like to see the second mcm shower curtain olychick posted, photo shopped into your bathroom photo.

You can have a shower curtain made, with fabric window treatments to match. That opens up a lot of fabric possibilities. Personally, I'd go for a small scale pattern, since the room is small.

I'm not a fan of the ruffled look in that bathroom, but if it makes your heart sing keep it! I also like the second one Oly posted, or the non-ruffled gradient one.

I don't care for the fussiness of the ruffles, but if you like it, keep it! Also google "blue ombre shower curtain". There are a few others you might like.

I agree...I don't like ruffles, but I like the color. May just go with white..

Olychick you just may have something there...I don't like the pattern, but it is the era and colors! I agree with everyone regarding the RUFFLES...I am not a ruffly lacy kind of girl...I never knew I would have so many help me with this saga! LOL Thank you everyone!!!!

I didn't realize we were still at this.

I would make a shower curtain out of a fabric that pulls in the colors but is a lot softer so it blends. For example this fabric: love bird damask This would allow you to go with the pale gray for the walls, the white or even a soft sage green.

Another no on the ruffles.

I've made our DDs several shower curtains. DD1 had two made out of flat bed sheets. DD2/DGS bathroom (below) I used a John Robshaw tablecloth that's hand stitched on all edges. For the tablecloth, I just made button holes for the shower curtain rings. Maybe you need to look at other sources since you haven't found "the one" yet.

Make sure the fabric is wide enough to make a curtain without having to sew 2 pieces together.

What does the rest of your house look like, style etc?

K9arlene its only 54" so I was going to sew 2 panels....is that not going to work? How bad will it look? Allison0704 the rest of the house has been renovated 1950's ranch (this is the last room to be done) house is teal and burndt orange.. This bathroom will get gutted in 1.5 years estimate. I never let people use it, but since we got the pool in and we are having parties, I wanted to make it a little presentable just in case.

It will look fine to seam it, but be sure to buy extra so you can match the print at the seam.

I don't know....it's probably going to be closed all of the time and depending on the weight of the fabric, it might not look bad, but the seam will be obvious. So many ready made shower curtains out there that would work and the room will be gutted relatively soon that I don't see having to make your own. Of course it's your call. Anyway, before you know it you're going to have your dream bathroom.

I will probably end up with WHITE... I need to close this section of my life...Its really getting ridiculous...It's a sickness. LOL

I will disagree that the seam will be obvious. Not if the pattern is matched properly. Moreover, the curtain will be large enough to have some gentle folds in it so the seam won't be noticeable.

The other alternative is to do a double shower rod. The outer one is for the decorative curtain which can be smaller than a regular shower curtain and hangs there to add color and hide the plumbing and the waterproof curtain. The inner rod is for a waterproof curtain (white, clear, whatever) which slides the length of the tub for when in use. Mom did that in her bathroom where the fabric she loved was a remnant and didn't have enough to do the whole shower curtain.

By doing so, you aren't limited to shower curtains, but can either make your own panel or buy any drapery panel you want of an appropriate length.

In this example, they used the decorative fabric on either side with a pullback, but note the other rod underneath for the waterproof curtain.

The tile is just adorable! Nothing wrong with keeping the walls white for now, will save you some extra cash for the future remodel. If you're set on changing the color now, consider blush, a pale pink color; or match the light blue of the existing tile.
