Quartz seam location at the edge of cooktop

Hi everyone,

I hope you could help us with our decision with countertop seam location. Our fabricator has given us a design that one of the seams in the countertop falls at the edge of the cooktop, 1 1/2” inside the cooktop cover and almost an inch from the cooktop cutout. The cooktop cover is 36” and the cutout is 34 1/2”. I was worried that this is too close to the edge and we might face support issues with the countertop. Also, with this design, there will be a long narrow piece of quartz (~ 34“ long) extending from one end of stove to almost to the other end to meet the seam! Is this okay? It does not sound like a robust design to me.

Thank you for your input
