Please help me give this room some WOW
Comments (35)Squirrel Please accept mind apologizes between work and something that popped up at home I hadnÂt been able to get back here!! I just love it when you or anyone else takes the time to photoshop a room I didnÂt get to the city this weekend however check coupled of local antiques/junk stores for the oval picture no luck I really like them beside the picture. I thought the picture behind the bed wasnÂt wide enough for the wall thinking something needed to be added. By seeing what you did I agree it looks much better Yes I thought about a chandelier, and one day hope to find one. What about one of the black table found I found at Target I believe they are smaller and because of the room size they might be better table 1, table 2 or table 3? Sorry thought of another question if IÂm able to use the panels that I have now with sheers behind them do you think I would still need to line them? On my shopping list dark rug, pictures, table, chandelier Again thanks everyone for your help, it might just take me a while to pull everything together...See More1940's, 10ft ceiling living room - need furniture help!
Comments (17)A couple of things strike me right away that throw the room off. First is the rug: It needs to be much much larger, and it should never be narrower than the couch. Second is to get longer curtains and hang them about a foot higher than they currently are. The art arrangement over the piano doesn't work; we'll remedy that. I like your fireplace and built ins. The shelves just need to be better styled--there are some good articles on Houzz to help with that, but basic rule is 1/3 books. 1/3 objects. 1/3 empty space--and I'd remove everything now over the mantel and use art. I suspect you can buy new furniture for no more than what it would cost to upholster yours, but that's a decision for you to make. I'll return later with a rendering of your room....See MoreNeed help decorating dining room that’s now open to my kitchen
Comments (27)A round table large enough to seat even 8 people would make it almost impossible to get additional seating in the room. Plus, a 72" round means that people across the table from each other cannot converse because they are simply out of range. (a la banquet tables that usually seat 8). I have included a seating guide go give you an idea. Your idea of two 72"x36" tables has the same liabilities and more if you choose a table with 4 legs at the corners because someone would have to staddle a leg at each "end". https://www.countrysideamishfurniture.com/blog/entry/the-complete-guide-to-dining-table-seating-capacity I heartily agree with suezbell who suggests trying all this out for yourself with graph paper and furniture cut outs that are done to scale....See MoreHelp Beloved Living Room’s Soul to Sing!
Comments (31)Material of black ceiling light - how glam? in a fireplace room now more contemporary-sleek ... black doors would seem an extra sleek?... if black, would you be able to have softness quite as well. Black trim seems popular, and some would add furry rug, etc.... Do you want patterns? do you want to add feeling in this room as the red rug adds over there? just thinking.......See Moremaddielee
