What do you need to do in this room? what functions do you use it for?

Is the eighteen feet from the by window to the tv? If so, you could leave six feet between the back of the sofa (centered with the bay window) and the bay window for your play area. Then use the rest of the area for your living room space.

If you want to try centering the back of the sofa across from the bay window, then measure the space between the side of the sofa and the wall with the two smaller windows. It may be that you have room there to place your desk/table with metal legs in that spot with its chair sitting in the play area. A tall thin metal lamp with large white shade on it could serve the living room as well as the desk. If not, find another side table/cabinet for that space for that purpose.

You could plan a place in the play room for a bed for the family pet.

Underneath the bay window, you might want a window seat that doubles as toy storage, preferably with front doors if the children are small. A top lid can pinch little fingers.

Unless you're wanting a wall to wall built in underneath the bay window -- if you're wanting separate pieces of furniture, then on each side of the window seat, you might consider tall shallow cabinets with solid doors at the bottom for some hidden storage) and either open shelves or glass doors above for displaying family photographs and family treasures.

We spend most of our time in this room and we use it for tv/main hang out area in the home (small bungalow). We don’t have any other room for general play/toys and I like that I can keep an eye on them as opposed to their bedrooms.

I think I’d just like to update it style and design wise and open to other arrangement ideas. I’m terrible at design and decor and I can’t seem to find another room like mine to copy off of 😂🥴

Please spend time looking at photos of rooms on line and in magazines to see what appeals to you. No one room will be perfect for you but you can build a collection of ideas that you like: rugs, curtains, sofas ,TV/bookcase/storage wall units,etc. Educate yourself on different styles and then choose what you like. You will probably not find one room with a style you can copy but you can build a collection of ideas to implement to make the room yours.

Another idea might be to create a bookcase the height and width of the sofa for storage to set behind the sofa for the toys to leave more play room closer to the window.... or even make it a room divider wider than the sofa ... to be used as a sofa table placed directly behind the sofa -- a pony wall height cabinet behind the sofa in lieu of a sofa table.

We did what suezbell is suggesting in our space with similar use. :) there is a big club chair and ottoman also in the couch space

Something you might want to consider is using modern bean bag chairs for the children -- lightweight and portable. An existing coffee table could be a play table . Pooch will like them, too, so try to find cloth ones with zipper covers that can be removed for laundering but small sized such as these:.
