Favorite apps for iPad to use in kitchen?
Comments (31)Camphappy--oh yes, Pinterest. Love it too! I need to explore the eatyourbooks site. We live in an amazing age! A2gemini--I'm sure there are lots of different under cabinet mounts. That link just happened to be something I had been reading about that sounded interesting. I would sure like to know what you end up with. A Bob Appetite app??? Oh my, there are more apps than time available to check the out! ;). Oh dear, a silly typo--I meant Bon Appetite. I haven't figured out if it is possible to back up on this iPad keyboard w/out erasing to make corrections. 1jcrochet--nutritional info is very helpful! I would like that too....See MoreiPad in the kitchen
Comments (31)May I suggest you back up your recipes often on an external hard drive...and print them out, too. For years I've kept most of my recipes on my Dell laptop. I do back up reasonably often. And I often print out the recipe to take to the kitchen with me. Then I slip the printed copy in a file with other printed recipes. (Someday I'll organize them into a notebook.) Anyway, my Dell died unexpectedly and I switched to a Mac so my backed up recipe files are not yet reachable. I'm so grateful I have lots of print copies to depend on. Just had to contact my sis in law about a recipe I needed. Grateful for sis in laws who keep their recipe files up to date, too. :0)...See MoreiPad vs iPad
Comments (30)Oh yeah, if I lived closer to the Apple store, I'd already have one.. and a MacBook air! (Though I am not a fan of the PC store.. OK, so the things that start sucking up space are Movies (HD especially), photos/videos, and certain video intensive games. Other files take up space but text files are pretty darn small. Maybe I sound like a cheapskate, but I can buy (and have) a 1 Terabyte passport for less than the price diff between the 64GB ipad air 2 and the 128GB. Given the low cost of storage, the price diff between the models is ridiculous. I am a very casual gamer. I am not recording music with Garage Band or any of the other music composition apps. Other than scrabble, I might play 1-2 games a year. I won't use the camera extensively and when I do, I won't store photos on the ipad. I think the 64GB will be fine. I actually think the 16GB will be fine but I'll go 64. :) Thanks so much everyone!!...See MoreiPad Case Question
Comments (11)Thanks to both of you, but it's not practical. You cannot use a laptop on a music stand and there isn't nearly such nice software for organizing and reading music as there is for iOS. Also, I would have to carry a very heavy clunky stand if I wanted to do that, and it can't come in nearly as close as a regular music stand because of the keyboard, besides looking terrible. Also, I'd have to turn every half page because laptop software isn't designed for the computer to run sideways, so you can only see half a page of music at a time with most of those programs. I find the suggestion kind of puzzling, to tell the truth. The idea that needing to bring a phone, keys, credit card, and a comb is "a whole lot of other stuff" confuses me. Don't you need those things when you go anywhere in your car? All I want is a case that can also serve as a small clutch for valuables like a phone and credit cards. You don't seem to realize that there is usually no safe place to put valuables on jobs in public locations like stores and restaurants, unless you keep it right at your feet, which clients often don't care for. In the pre-internet days it didn't matter so much, because smart thieves knew that a musician wasn't worth robbing, but these days a smartphone, for instance, is a very tempting target to anyone. I don't happen to have one, but they're going to grab the bag first and find that out later....See MoreElmer J Fudd
