So what’s up with C2? I think Lars and I have the same answer, which to me is unsatisfactory. Seems to be stumping at least many of us. Anyone confident with their answer?

Argh I got frustrated and googled it. While I had the main word right I was down a wrong path and let myself get too committed to it. Hate when that happens and it’s not the first time.

In looking at the puzzle later, I thought I might have it, and googled FOAS’ hint, and it confirmed my idea.

Yes...I saw that, but it doesn't help me...

I suggest people go through the alphabet and figure out what A3 is missing and go from there.

A3, I had never ending story OR short story. I thought either one would work. I went with short story.

I had 'short story' for A3, makes more sense to me. And I finally did get C2 this morning, thanks to hints. And just 'far from home' for D3. Close enough, I think. So not bad over all.

Ooh I obviously had short story as well. And Rox I thought your other answer was “make a long story short”, which wouldn’t have been a great answer. I think ”never ending story” was the best option.

My problem with C2 was I got hung up on the missing letters and was sure ”any” (NE) was part of the answer. The best I came up with was ”nowhere without any” which seemed too incomplete. Curious if that’s what Lars had.

I got them all except I said period of Grace instead of Grace period which I never heard.

Lily, grace period as in mortgage payment is due on the first of the month but you won’t be dinged if you’re a few days late, as long as they receive payment within the two week “grace period.”

Jackanory. It kind of bothered me to write it as one word, but that’s where google led me at that moment. Looking again I’d revert back to Jack a Nory.

That's a word, person, term that I have never heard of.

I love these games when I get to learn something new. Like Jackanory! And now I feel like I want to go watch The Neverending Story, haven’t watched it in years.

I never did get C2 either, but the others were not a problem for me. For C2, I kept saying to myself "nowhere without any..." (from N E) but of course this is an incomplete phrase. Since this stuck in my mind, I could not think of anything else.

Also, it's been a very long time since I've been in the middle of nowhere, and so it is not something that I think about.

The definition that I saw of Jackanory is a whole other subject! It's an action that if I mentioned it I'd most definitely be sent to Disney cups.

I couldn't be sure that the word in A3 was 'story' or 'store' - or even 'stork' 😄
