Any suggestions for adding storage to a small bathroom?

I have already maximized existing lower cabinets with inside mounted shelving, etc…I still need more storage. Considering a storage tower mounted on counter between two mirrors, the unit has two bottom drawers and a cabinet. Other ideas are also adding small recessed cabinets but I don’t want more mirrors in my small space. Thinking recessed cabinets could have matching white shaker doors? Any suggestions? Iam a women with lots of “important” beauty items, plus a husband who wants at least one drawer😂

You're on the right track with recessed cabinets. I searched Google for tall recessed wood cabinet. I've seen several versions previously. Install these just like a medicine cabinet.

We have just started a renovation which will include a new office/spare bedroom on the first floor adjacent to a breakfast room. We are considering bumping out a couple more feet than originally planned in order to accommodate space for a future bathroom in the office/spare br. (Will most likely be closet space until we can afford to make it into a bathroom...and since the office will have a vaulted ceiling we wanted to get the spaces carved out now). Attached is a proposed design for the future bathroom (that includes going out 2 more feet than our current reno plan). I think the layout and its relation to the space around it can be improved! I would like to have a shower but I don't know if a corner shower is the best choice. The bathroom as designed is apx 6x6. Can it be smaller? Can it protrude less than 6 feet into the office? The area where it says "Flat Ceiling" - cutting into the bathroom a bit is apparently needed so we can move large furniture into the room (eg, sofa or bed). We're looking into the possibility of bumping the room into the backyard even a bit more but not sure if that will be possible. Any thoughts about this proposed layout? To help with context, the rooms around this Office/BR are: Breakfast room to the left (French door connecting the two); garage at the bottom, outside walls on the top and right. We live in New England so want to avoid plumbing fixtures on that outside wall. Any thoughts? Suggestion of a vanity in a small bathroom

Our bathrooms (especially our MB) are small as well. We had a local guy make our vanities, modeled after the Sonia Europa vanity. We stuck to the Europa's dimensions for the most part (ours are taller, so the drawers and doors/open space are proportionately taller as well), because we wanted to use the Sonia sinktops with ours. If you are planning to use separate counters/sinks, then you would have the flexibility to have your vanity made to your specs. It might be worth checking with some local shops/cabinet makers, and see if they can make one to fit your budget. Our guy flaked out on us a few times (had his own personal issues going on at the time), but we were able to get well-made vanities with some nice features (the customized height as I'd mentioned, as well as Blum soft-close drawer glides), at a decent price.

Nice job! Being on the last leg of the reno of the 3rd (and last) bathroom in my house, I can appreciate that sometimes there are things that do not get the attention they should have initially. Like not noticing that the old toilet was centered 16 in from the wall and to remedy that the sick had to move which meant that the door wouldn't close etc etc etc. However, having looked at your pics and consulted with my project manager, we thought that you could look for something to put where you have the little freebee. It could be a one piece unit or a base either cupboard or drawers and a top that matched style wise. You could even place the little one you have on top, with or without the legs. Paint it whatever colour suits you. You could even hang the little one over the toilet tank ( too crowded for me ) or on the adjacent wall , if it didn't interfere with the toilet. In any event, I think the space between the windows is perfect as long as its clean , neat and eyepleasing as I infere from the pics that that is the first thing you are going to see when you enter. IT's amazing what a non-descript bureau or cupboard can look like with a couple of coats of melamine paint ! The Boss offered the suggestion that if you need storage for hair products, portable hair dryer etc, after years of struggling with cupboard storage, mess, things falling over, etc, she finally started using a large basket that she keeps in the closet in the adjoining room ( sometimes ) . Everything is close to hand, easily portable and actually doesn't look bad if left out . Good luck with the rest of the transformation

Everything you chose looks great. Has a very modern/contemporary approach. My main recommendation is regarding the mosaic liner. I always recommend that the liner will be 3/4 of the rooms height rather then at the 1/2 way point. The reason being is that when it is at eye level it makes the room look shorter, but when its is 3/4 of the way up it gives an illusion of a taller room. - Deluxe Vanity

I added this one to a guest bathroom with no storage, thought it was a plain enough design and could paint to match the room trim, and small enough so it could disappear in a side wall by a vanity.

Mostly I didn’t want to burden the already overwhelmed carpenter with another custom project when there were more important things that needed to get done. It wasn’t that big and easily popped into a drywall hole.

it was just…ok not great.

Given more time I would have asked for a custom cabinet using more of an existing stud cavity, there are plenty of nice examples online of all shapes & sizes.

Thank you both for your feedback! The signature hardware one looks perfect. Painted to match walls, it would “disappear”. Is it a design mistake to do something like that if the medicine cabinet door will hit the sink vanity mirror when fully open? It’s a tight spot. Opening the other direction will make access awkward.

Not sure about my stud spacing. If it’s a problem then I will be forced to just put a tower on top of counter between mirrors.

yes it is meant to recess between existing studs, is skinnier that a stud space so there is wiggle room. it sticks out @ 1”.

Here is a pic of the Signature Hardware one we did. I hate to complain because it looked fine, fit the space well, easy and relatively cheap. This was for a last minute quick update of a bathroom before listing in 1 day, not committing to any serious work. It’s skinny (about a foot) and easy enough to cut a hole in drywall & pop it in.

top pic is my phone pics B&A the 1-day makeover, 2nd pic was from the realtor pics. i doubt the paint on that cabinet was even dry.

ETA yes we put the hinge on the left so the door did not hit the light. That part was fine, what I didn’t like was the body of the cabinet was a flimsy plastic shell. Plain stud space would have looked better inside.
