lazydaisynot, I'm glad to hear that you think our existing door would look fine as is because this whole project will be happening in phases. We will replace outdoor lighting right when we move in in a couple weeks, then this spring/summer we will paint the front and back porches and the trim. The pillars and doors will hopefully be a project for next summer depending on how much we are able to save in the meantime. There are so many little projects that we have for the home, so we are forced to prioritize and compromise. So it's nice to know that our "work in progress" may still look somewhat put together along the way!

At first, I was thinking a light gray could work, if it picks up one of the brick colors. I think the white trim here also helps balance that pairing. This was a custom color, but it looks way less brown based than Gauntlet Gray to me, more like the steel tones of your lightest gray brick. Then I started to think that with all your roof, a dark gray, like Gauntlet Gray would divide your rather short house. That's probably why it's painted a color close to the roof. Here's a dark gray shorter house,(painted something like Winchester Gray, a poster thinks.) that has a matching roof, unlike yours. Personally, I wouldn't like this dark gray on your house. Would you ever consider going to a chocolate brown, with red accents? Here, your roof is the third color, as is their orangey natural wood trim. Paint the garage the red. Your setting is gorgeous!

Looks like you have it thought out. I would suggest picking your roof color before you pick your paint color. Paint color is much easier to change over the years. Personally, I would pick a very neutral shade such as grey or black (like you suggested). This way you have many other color options for the color of your home as time goes on. You can find a beige/grey to soften the red in your brick. Versus a cooler grey (Wow that looks really blue next to the top one- but when by themselves, they both look more grey) It will be nice to see how your roof impacts the look of your home over the course of the year and throughout the different seasons. I am not sure where you are located but a north facing home, in the northern US, a grey will take on more of those blue tones. Yes, I would make those attic vents blend in. I am not sure that I helped any. Good Luck!

Gray with darker gray trim or even black trim would look good. What is your budget? Does it allow for a new garage door? I agree with going with the MCM vibe. The gray would probably need to be a warmer gray so it doesn't fight with the brick.
