how much is too much? how much is too little?
Comments (2)Thanks so much, Homebody! Although it has not ALWAYS been FUN, we have really enjoyed this house project. I hope your dream comes true very soon...and cannot wait to see pics of your home too! =) I have enjoyed hearing about this Beadboard Wallpaper. I am wondering if those of you who have used it think it will withstand the MAJOR moisture of our 2 young sons' bathroom??? Is this paintable so it can be sealed? I am worrying what the spattering and running drips of water near the pedestal sink will do to it over time if not 'sealed' with paint???? I am still curious about the 'rules' in my initial question as well as these points about beadboard wallpaper. Thanks for the input =)...See MoreHelp, Jalapenos and Serranos flowering....WAY too early.
Comments (20)Instead of the bottom, drill around the circumference about 2" off the bottom every 4-5 inches. Holes in the bottom allow water and fertilizer the ability to drain too fast. I have some jalapeño plants that are mild and others that are hotter than any other jalapeño I've tasted. A golden cayenne feels as hot as my habanero peppers. I think it is the professional growers know/understand the care aspect better. I water every 5/6 days normally, but super dry here so every 3 days I flood them and protect them from too much sun. The super hots tend to be more sensitive in my experience. The standard cayenne and pepperoncini seem to just take care of themselves as long as I stay out of their way. My bhut and scorpions are very very hot but smaller in size than many people have in better climates and longer growing season. By the way, 5 gallon buckets from HD are much bigger than 5 gallon landscape containers. Since you're in HD anyway, they sell earplugs which are a great asset when the complaining starts ;)...See MoreHaworthia losing its green and browning, too much or too little water?
Comments (36)I noticed yesterday my Haworthia is starting to brown at the stem. It is only soft at the very end of the stem. Is this pot to big? How about coloration of all Haworthia? I live in Northwest Arkansas and our weather has been cooler than normal. I keep them outside on our front porch. I dusted them with Diatomaceous Earth. Our front porch faces north. We get sun only in the morning, but they do not get direct sun. Please advise me on any thing I can do to comfort them more. I use only rainwater when I water. I have a moisture meter to check levels of moisture in the soil. I am using a Terra cotta pot with a drainage hole. I have put small rocks in the bottom before I used soil. Is the pot to big? I hope you can see these pictures good enough to advise me. The 4 show are the only plants that have gone soft on me. Should I repot all of them to make sure the soil is not contaminated? The soil I use has a lot of course sand in it. Below is a picture of the soil. Then a picture of the location of my plants at 8:38 am. Please help me. I will do anything I need to do....See MoreToo much or too little water? Fiddle Leaf fig help!
