Transition from tiled ceiling over shower to painted ceiling
Comments (3)We removed the soffits in two bathrooms, and we tiled the ceilings over the tubs in both, too. In one we used matching bullnose tile as our border, or trim, in the other, our tile guy cut down marble tile/pieces to use as border/trim. The rest of the bathrooms/ceilings are painted (except over the vanities). It looks great, but I don't have any pics showing the ceilings in either bathroom. If I get a chance, I'll try to take some pics for you....See Morelarge format floor tile on walls?
Comments (23)Lori: I can't take the credit for the work. We found a good tilesetter who is doing the installation. It's the first time he's worked with Schluter profiles on the tile edges. He indicated that it's a bit tricky to get the Jolly to be perfectly plumb because it tends to want to move around. Otherwise, a straightforward installation. The Schluter profiles are not expensive (in my opinion). An 8' length is $15 from Home Depot. The Schluter designline horizontal profile between tiles is about the same price, but it was special order from a tile shop. The quote I received for professionally bullnosing our porcelain tile was around $8/linear foot....See MoreHow to end edges of backsplash . . . without bullnose tile . . .
Comments (23)I have a white/gray stone tile and it's thicker than a typical subway tile. Tonight at Home Depot I put a Schluter brushed metal tile edge against it and was surprisingly pleased with the result. Even though it's a vintage (1920's) style kitchen, it works with some of the modern elements like the stainless steel fridge and lighting fixture....See MoreOrdering tile online?
Comments (2)Bad idea. What is their return policy? If you need some replaced will they match the color lot and batch numbers ? Will all the tiles sent the first time be of the same lot? How flat are these tiles? Can't tell that without seeing 2 full pieces in person....See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
