Jet Pump River Irrigation Pressure Tank vs Pressure Switch

Greetings Council,

We are in the process of upgrading our river irrigation. So far its:

-Jet pump(looking at the Red Lion RL-sprk200-br) sitting 8' above river, 25' of 2" intake hose

- 50' lift from there to system

- 2" poly mainline 450' with 8 - 1 1/2" risers

The risers each have a 1 1/2" ball valve before a 1 1/2" camlock 90 that will feed a 2" lay flat hose to a large sprinkler.

Our question is: How would a Pressure Switch on the pump controlling the system compare to a pressure tank?

In my mind, I relate it to a different system for another property I have experience with where the water is pumped from a well into an underground tank controlled by a float valve. From there it is pulled to a pump that has a pressure switch which runs whenever water is turned on until it is turned off and the pressure is replenished.

So, I am thinking this same system would mean whenever we want to water we just open a valve and signal the jet pump to start pumping until we shut the valve?

What do yall think about all that
