Maybe eliminate the little table (with all the stuff on it)...for a much bigger console table on the other wall...with a place to drop things and a decorative mirror over the table ....not sure the bench is needed

Beautiful entry! Do you need something functional by the doors or simply decorative? What about a small entry table or beautiful umbrella stand with art above it on that left inside wall? If you have an outlet on that wall, you could place a pretty lamp on the table. The rug is lovely but doesn't seem to belong here. I agree with ptreckel's suggestion. Something colourful and traditional would look fabulous. For the hall tree, I sometimes see them styled with beautiful hats, a bag and a plant on the seat. Really depends on your style. Google "antique hall tree" for ideas. You'll find plenty of pics on Pinterest. See what resonates with you. Here are entryway ideas on Houzz.

Let's start with what style you like, or maybe another room in the house we can kind of help understand more. For the entry, I might go with a semi-flush light so it could be a little larger in scale but not hang too low. for the rug, I would go with like a 4x6 or 5x7 maybe even round. so it fills the area a bit more and helps balance in with the staircase. I would probably put a rubber matt for shoes by the floor heater to help dry them and to keep them warm :) doesn't seem to be too much space for a table here but finding a little half-round or small side table to put by the door for keys and mail could work. This is basically just to give you an example ...

So for the hallway, I would recommend the Hemnes cabinet from IKEA (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/hemnes-shoe-cabinet-with-2-compartments-white-20169559/. It has a small drawer where you could put the dog leash. If you don’t have one near you, they do ship but only to certain locations. For the family room, I would look at a storage bench with baskets like this one from Lowe’s (https://www.lowes.com/pd/Coastal-Gray-Wash-Storage-Bench/1000777730). But I would put one of each side of the desk if that would work.
