PLEASE help with family room
Comments (11)Hi Laurie - The kitchen turned out a lot better than we thought. It's the original cabinets that we refinished using General Finishes Java gel stain. There were a few cabinet modifications (above cooktop and around fridge) and we're very happy. The granite is white delicatus and we LOVE it! I never thought about painting the bottom half all white..hmmmm, something to think about! We have two black dogs and kids will be here soon so I'm not sure. I think it will look okay and we'll be using SW Duration so it should be okay. Here is a pic of our kitchen while we were reworking everything: Our formal living off the main entrance..it was flowery wallpaper like the formal dining..both rooms are this color now and we may use it in the den..can't remember the name right now......See MoreHELP! Comments (4)Here is how I would set up your space. Make sure the chairs are not protruding into your walkway to the door. Openings for you to enter your arrangement can change, based upon your wants/needs. Here I show a space between the chairs. You might like it differently. Make sure you map out an accurate floor plan before purchasing anything. The sofa you have now appears to be too long for the arrangement I am showing. Sectional: most adult guests do not like to sit on a sectional. It is also not very versatile for future changes. If you do not have guests often and that is not as issue for you, a sectional is ideal for this arrangement. I like the Tyson best for you. I see your dining chairs have a mcm vibe to them with the angled legs. You can add that look on other items. Soon, that look will fade, like all other trends. So, be careful about adding too much....See MoreFamily room design overwhelm - please help!
Comments (6)Kitty litter in the least used bathroom in the house or the laundry room no where else. IMO you need to decide what this space functions for most. Then you design the space around that function So if TV and seating thrn start there .You have desparate need for storage and not visible storage but a nice wall full of it I assume this is a porch that now functions as a FR. So how old are the kids ? How much of their clutter NEEDS to be in thta space ? What do you need to make the space work for your office ?I see clutter everywhere , the kitchen and this space . My advice first step get rid of all the clutter in both spaces . If that needs to have more storage for both then you need to do that first. I had 3 kids and believe me they and their toys did not take over the house . We lived in married student housing for 4 yrs and pretty small space . The kids had a storage bench with 3 draweres that pulled out with handles on the front and at the end of each day the toys sere put away so the LR could be used for adult use. The bench was also extra seating in the LR My Dad actually built the bench best thing ever . Any toys that did not fit in the drawers went into the bedrooms . Everyone needs to enjoy a home ....See Morehelp asap please-family room/living dilemma
Comments (12)You have too many threads! Your first? https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6411876/white-kitchen-glass-cabinets another!!!!! https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6412529/who-decides-on-cabinets-contractor-or-me You had another on lighting.. You got revisions and advice on the kitchen dominated by.......the same plan as you have above? ( me, Cpartist advised as well ) Tricia This is a colonial Like Save last Wednesday at 9:29AM Tricia Throwing a wrench - I told them I didn’t want a bulkhead ( old kitchen had no bulkhead). They wanted to add a bulkhead and I said them to figure out a plan with plumber for no bulkhead. There is plumbing up there that are hiding with upper cabinets…to right of right window I think. Like Save last Wednesday at 9:37AM Tricia What would you recommend for lighting What is my point? Nothing exists in a home all alone. Not the kitchen in a "colonial" Not anything, anywhere in any home. The house is "down to the studs" Get the house, a hard measure, and drawing, all of it on one large piece of paper, every foot and inch. As it exists this moment. Until you do that? Nobody can help you. Every single thing will be missing context https://www.houzz.com/discussions/6412989/how-to-houzz-part-two#28795944...See MoreJessica Torre
