While an "upgrade" is nice...also keep in mind the prices of houses in your area and the benefits of this upgrade. Why put a more expensive (installation...material...upkeep) siding on a house in a neighborhood with vinyl sided houses. I have a brick home with vinyl siding on the gables and a wide dormer. While it would be nice to have HARDI-PLANK...it would be an improvement that would never pay for itself and in all honesty, the average person would never notice anyway.

oruboris, The maintenance staff and members of the condo board have been advocating for the vinyl and are the source of the comments. There is a belief that the material used (cedar shingles) are the (inevitable) cause of the problems noted. I seen the rotted out places in the bottom course. Thanks for your attention.

I really like the Hampton Blue. I was out today and noticed a house near mine that has similar color brick to yours and went with blue siding. They also went with a slightly darker blue door (like navy) and I think it looks great.
