Brick and stone combinations in the way your proposing to use them are not favored in this forum. Brick and stone can and have been successfully used together for centuries. The main structure is brick. The stone is used as accents for keystones, window ledges, and other trim work around windows and doors. That is a classic, in my opinion, look for houses. Often those classic structures use a red or dark brick. If you did the bump outs alone on this house, you would end up with what I call the zebra stripe look. It's never pretty. If you feel you must use some stone, use it on the two end wings of the house. (This is probably the garage and the opposite end) or just the center porch section of the house.

Your property is so beautiful i can see why you live it. Your home looks like 80s contemporary style. Your brick is fine. The roof change is key. I don’t agree with metal roof for this style home. That look is more country, or traditional/farmhouse look. Not right for your home imo. I would recommend Weathered Wood HD by GAF Timberline shingle. Then once it is on, a nice coordinating color for trim and gutters etc will evolve. Your front door is hidden so select color for that last. A deep gold might look good. A dark color won’t do much for your front facade. So start with roof.

Thank you everyone for the informative comments. We are in a high flood area, the house is extremely TALL. I guess we were trying to add stone.. to cut off the height of the house. I agree with everyone that the stone will be overwhelming. I guess the confusion is the bottom portion of the house below the deck since the house is extremely tall, I do not think that adding lattice will look nice. Our new design dilemma is the mortar color. We have chosen a light gray, I am now second guessing myself and might go exchange for a medium gray. The front door, does need TLC. PPF we did drop the garage down almost 4 ft from where it was in the original drawings. The slope would have been 20% and garage not useable (I have private thoughts about this, but this was caught before we started building at least by our contractor and apple-pie-order and you). I think I misunderstood what was meant earlier about dropping down hence my comment of 1.5 feet story. If we bump the garage out, I am worried that it will cause the grade to go over 10% because there will be less of a ‘run’. I suppose we could go even lower but that would require excavating and more steps in the garage. We will currently have almost 4 feet of steps so having more would be challenging. It becomes this constant battle of making sure there is enough space in the garage. It is current 24x24 so we will have enough room for steps that go down the side and toward the back of the garage but if we bumped out say 3 feet, then we would need to probably go 3 feet lower or some combination. At least I think I am understanding what you mean by lowering the garage. It was previously going to be even with the first floor of the house and now it is even with the ground if that makes sense.
