Exterior paint/ design ideas for traditional house w/ light brown roof

Hi! We are getting close to to updating our exterior and changing out windows. I need to pick colors + windows and decide what to do on the outside. I like contrast looks (soft white with dark charcoal trim or charcoal house with white trim), but I'm not sure what to do here with this light brown/ tan roof? Any ideas on colors for house, trim and shutter color? Stone can go but I am also open to ideas of dying/painting them. Window color (size has to be the same)? Only thing that has to stay is our drab sad roof.

Comments (5)The closest BM match to Mellow Grain would be Dunmore Cream if that helps you to visualize it. Here is the reason that I wouls prefer to not live in the "Red House"-it may not apply to your environs. Our area is mostly new construction in subdivisions-most of the homes are no more than 10 years old, and our particular neighborhood didn't break ground until 2005. For resale it seems to be best to paint the home a color that blends well and fits in with the surrounding homes-the few homeowners who tried something different and then tried to sell ended up selling for less than they should have-in one case a home that the owner had painted a pretty potent blue color was listed for 6 months without an offer, then painted and relisted at a price $15k higher than the original price only to sell in less than a week. I don't really do anything to the outside of my home without some consideration as to what it might do to my resale potential even though I have no plans to move. The last two homes we bought and sold had less curb appeal when we bought them than when we sold them-we were able to buy them cheaper and sell for more. The first house I ever bought was Pink-PINK. The agent didn't want me to see it but I forced her to show it to me-we stole it and the first thing we did was paint it a creamy yellow. Comments (3)Shutters are too small for the windows and I think they don’t add much. My suggestion is the paint the house all bright white…B.M.Super White. All the window frames should be bronze. Either replace them or paint them. Add a wood or faux wood wall pergola over your garage door and start bougainvillea trailing from the trellis Either select a wood grain garage door or have it painted to match your front door If you want to spend more money select Mexican tiles to install on the risers of your stairs for more interest. Your front yard needs some serious landscaping. No lawn IMO. Maybe ferns and a palm tree. Ferns in the front yard. Mexican planters are a must. You want this look for your home IMO. Comments (1)I think I would just use the colors of the brick and stone for the siding I see the blue quite clearly on the gables , such a weird choice for roof color but oh well . I think I might add some blue landscaping to bring the roof into the picture since it is there and not going anywhere. What yo have now looks quite good. the main color is pretty, trim color coul go a bit darker if you chose one of the deeper stone colors. if yo choose to paint the doors i could imagine a deep, earthy green, not necessarily as brown as the sw olive grove in this palette
