Need help with old house exterior
Comments (9)Great advice above ! I lived in a similar red brick house in pa a few years back. It needed a face lift too . Is your house for consideration a duplex ? If so I am not sure it will help unless your neighbor does nice things too. But as far as reasonable curb appeal ideas ... Here are my thoughts . Remove awnings . You can replace with nicer ones or just go without. We had similar aluminum ones and someone came out when I posted them free on craigslist . Huge improvement ! Railings need some sort of oomph. I think if you replaced with white vinyl that would look nice . Might cost you a chunk of change , but get someone with a jack hammer to get rid of the sidewalk going along the wall . Then make a garden bed there, with some pretty lime light hydrangea for height and whatever else strikes you. Make a new path in a curve off the steps to the driveway . How about a nice window box under the window with the different color brick ? That will cover up that issue, with some trailing vines . Also a planter by the door or 2. I think flowers can make such a huge impression ! And a wreath ! :) And I have no idea what the mailbox looks like but when I put up a fresh brand new white mailbox I felt like I had a new house ! Lol Maybe replace the door with a nice oval windowed one if your budget allows. Of course, you may have some great ideas and I may have some crappy ones ! Lol but good luck and follow your gut about the home. Don't buy if you aren't feeling sure about it . :)...See MoreExterior color Dilemma. New Home. Need help w/ Exterior color!

Comments (19)This is Agreeable Gray, Extra White and Gauntlet Gray. I actually think it would be a mistake to go too much gray on the body. You will already have a gray roof. Canvas Tan is a little grayer than Patience. I would not use those garage doors shown above. They are a modern design and your house is closer to traditional. I also think the wood grain and side windows when combined with stone would look too busy. I hope one of the professionals will speak to the door as I am just a person like you. What is the name of your HOA? Stay away from Unique Gray. It is lilac color....See MoreNeed help with Exterior house color for a two story boxy lake house.
Comments (4)A waterfront home near me recently painted their blue house to be white, with blue trim. Walking past it, I commented to the workers that it was beautiful. They agreed, saying they were going for a coastal look. I suggest searching Houzz or asking a SW color pro for a coastal white. SW Underseas would work great as your trim color....See Morenchamber
