I would leave the TV where it is; it is at the appropriate height for viewing. I would paint that wall to match the others in the room. It would diminish the contrast between the TV and wall. I would place minimal if any artwork around the TV. You are going to run into problems placing your pieces around the various switches. I don't see any lamps in your room. I would focus on lighting and window treatments next. I love your area rug - I would find some way to use that beautiful shade of blue as an accent color. And your pup is adorable!

The wood carved panel you selected are nice but they may look too big for the wall where you intend to use. How about this choice? Based on what I see- there's a large hard surface to the left and right. So I would put a soft textured fabric, possibly patterned fabric headboard, simple rectangle shape like one of these, except low profile (something that sits behind your pillows and doesn't go much higher.) I wouldn't put anything above it since there's a lot going on on that wall. Just some nice bedding and a couple throw pillows. Just my personal opinion, not a pro!

You could make your room a reading retreat by adding a console (with tv above) and store books, magazines, and photo albums, etc. Try pulling your rug out as well Suggest replacing the small table between chairs with something larger to make that area feel more substantial; but more importantly, for the addition of a good reading lamp, book, coffee cup, etc. Add pillow and a throw and for more comfort, you could move the chairs back a bit as there seems to be room and add ottomans.
