Look thru the pages linked below for lots of ideas. I've done a bath with tile wrapping around the room and trim finishing off the top about 6" above the counter top. I don't think I'd do a borderline of tile by itself around the room. Having a backsplash behind the vanity will work just as well as doing the whole room. It all depends on the look you're going for, time and money. If you end up with any gaps between the vanity and the backsplash you can glue some matching decorative 1/2-round tile at the junction. It's a bit hard for me to vote for what to put in the bottom two baths because I'm not sure what else is going in there. In general, I like frameless mirrors in a very "light" feeling bath -- mostly white and/or pedestal vs vanity. I like painted wood frames in a variety of bathrooms. And of course Lyfia's mirrors are really pretty in her room, and would work nicely in your two lower bathrooms if you're skewing mostly lighter or white wood/tile/fixtures. Can you fill us in a bit more? For your top two baths a framed silver-tone mirror with a fairly substantial frame (again, much like Lyfia's) would be my second choice. As you have some visually "hefty" items in the vanity and counter colors, however, I too would like to see a dark-stained framed mirror. Now granted, I'm a bit biased as the dark-with-dark is what I did, but as I was using mostly light colors in there I didn't want the vanity to be all by its lonesome. So: Good luck finishing up. Doing one bath reno drove me wild -- I can't imagine having a brain left after *four* bathrooms!

I had the exact same problem. I picked out the vanity I wanted but did not think about the fact that it wasn't made to sit flush against the wall. I spent a month looking for something else, but in the end we decided to go with something shorter and have it not be against the wall. But we were going from 72" to 60" which is probably not workable in your mom's situation. I did find a lot of vanities that did have flat sides and could work in a corner, if you are willing to have the countertop fabricated. They just need to not have any trim detail on the top or bottom like the one you picked out does. I would just look at the ones without the pre-made tops. Because the pre-made top will still leave you with a slight gap because of the countertop overhang. This is an example: Avanity Modero which is sold everywhere, not just at Lowe's. The cabinet we ended up buying is an Avanity Madison which won't work for you, but I assume it is of similar quality. We are pretty happy with it. The drawers and doors have soft close but I do feel like the glides in my Ikea kitchen drawers are better quality. It is very pretty and I wanted a stained wood so I am really happy with our choice. If I had been willing to go with a painted finish, I think we might have stuck with the 72" Modero.
