The fixtures look like brushed chrome or brushed nickel,so a mirror in that finish would work. Otherwise, you might consider a stained wood frame that picks up the color of the cabinetry, which would give a little more depth and balance the weight of the dark cabinet below.

You could also go frameless with a beveled edge.

We did framed mirrors in our master bath - in our case we went with wood to match the cabinetry. But I started a thread in the bathrooms forum to ask for suggestions, and got some nice ideas, including a tiled one. I think this link will get you to it.

You could use a framed mirror in an antique silver finish (that looks like silver leafing). Sometimes you can find some pretty ones with very nice molding at places like Kirkland's Home, Old Time Pottery, Hobby Lobby.

Maybe something like these. I got these at Hobby Lobby's 50% off sale so for two it was $50+ tax.

It's a bit hard for me to vote for what to put in the bottom two baths because I'm not sure what else is going in there.

In general, I like frameless mirrors in a very "light" feeling bath -- mostly white and/or pedestal vs vanity. I like painted wood frames in a variety of bathrooms. And of course Lyfia's mirrors are really pretty in her room, and would work nicely in your two lower bathrooms if you're skewing mostly lighter or white wood/tile/fixtures. Can you fill us in a bit more?

For your top two baths a framed silver-tone mirror with a fairly substantial frame (again, much like Lyfia's) would be my second choice. As you have some visually "hefty" items in the vanity and counter colors, however, I too would like to see a dark-stained framed mirror. Now granted, I'm a bit biased as the dark-with-dark is what I did, but as I was using mostly light colors in there I didn't want the vanity to be all by its lonesome. So:

Here is what I did. I wanted to pick up the colors of all the elements in my room. I found this one for 65 dollars at our local Fred Meyer. It has several browns and some silver in it.

Love the ideas! What about adding silver leaf to wood ones? Would that work?

mdc08, if you find a wood frame mirror and want to paint it yourself, check out a product line called Sophisticated Finishes (I found mine at Michael's). Their metallic finishes really do have a high-end look. I used their gold paint for highlights on my French metal bed and was really pleased. Be sure to use their Clear Primer first, and follow their instructions for a good result. You can find their instructions online by using a search engine like google.

I meant to add that the silver leafing-look paint would probably work very well over a black frame, so don't rule anything out. And, if the finish is too silver at first, you can lightly glaze it to age it a bit. Find the type of molding that will give the look you want and have fun!

i recently painted over a black frame with a mixed metallic finish--i used different shades of metallic silver, gold, copper, white, and black. I don't have a picture, but it came out great, so don't be afraid. you can always paint over it if you don't like it. :)

I'm posting my bathroom mirror pics just for the sake of the subject of this topic. The black oval mirror in the red bathroom was detached from my childhood bedroom dresser/hutch set and painted black so I could keep a piece of it forever. :)
