Way better safe than sorry but what a U-turn. Not fun having the brakes applied and then having to go through all the mental prep on the second go.

Do you by chance have a memory foam topper on your bed? Reason for asking is that I had the rash problem you mentioned. Decided that I must be sleeping too hot so removed the topper. Solved.

Oh how frustrating...to be ready for the big stuff only to have the carpet pulled out. I'm sorry and hope they get this handled soon!

Darn! Well, they must evaluate all the risks, and maybe it's good that they were comfortable delaying your surgery a bit.

Oh my! What a let down. I can't imagine how frustrating that was to go through. We have to acknowledge that it was the right decision, but.....I am sure at the time you just wanted to get it over with.

What Incompetency! Your considerable distress aside, who pays for all this -- your hospital bed, the surgeons' time, the OR, the staffing?

Probably won't take long to clear that rash up, you'll be fixed up good as new soon!

Do not be too surprised if after you are given something for the rash and it heals the doctor tells you to use an antiperspirant under your boobs. When I complained about a reoccurring rash that and drying completely including using a hair dryer on the area after showers was what I was told to do. I had to laugh that day because I was sweating and had a mental image of carrying around a hair dryer to keep it dry at all times as he first suggested had me rolling.

What a bummer. I have a rash there too. But I guess they know what they're doing.

I'm so sorry. Several years ago I was scheduled for surgery and came down with a respiratory "thing" that was going around. I called my PCP and explained I did not want to postpone surgery. She told me exactly what to take and I was good to go three days before surgery. So thankful!

Not a confidence inspiring experience. I hope you're at a major center and dealing with a team that's busy doing large numbers of the procedure you need. Good luck.

I am sorry that happened. You get yourself mentally prepared to have major surgery and then it is cancelled and now you have to do it all over again. I hope your rash clears up so you don't have to go through this again. My surgery had been cancelled too but mine wasn't anything major like yours.

I would look at it as for whatever reason, it wasn't the right day for you to have surgery. But I understand the feeling of getting prepared for something, and not having it happen.

I’m sorry it didnt happen, as when we get mentally prepared and make all the other preparations, it seems like all that energy is wasted. I hope your rash is treated and you can be rescheduled soon. It does seem odd that no one checked out your rash when you mentioned it.

How frustrating. I was wondering how you were faring and wasn't expecting to hear from you so soon. Oh well, I am sure it will be for the best.
