Just a little over a year ago, March 9th, DS had to have emergency surgery because of an astrangulated hernia. This time he noticed it before it got really bad and big like what happened the last time. He had a hernia the size of a melon last time, this time it is more the size of an orange. And it is on the opposite side.

He went in to see a doctor last week and they decided it did need surgery, but it could wait till the hospital opened up for non emergency surgery. They weren't doing any surgeries except life and death surgeries. The hospital opened up Monday for most surgeries and he was signed up for Thursday at 6:15 am. It is going to be rough getting him up, he is not an early morning person. They also tested him for Covid 19 last week and he passed.

Last time because it was so big they had to do major surgery and do a long incision and then do a hernioplasty, mesh repair. He had to stay in the hospital. This time they are doing a laparoscopically , 4 small cuts, followed by a mesh repair and he should go home in the afternoon.

They think he keeps getting them because he has a connective tissue disorder called Marfan Syndrome. He has had it since birth and it caused several physical developmental delays like walking. He also has a heart condition because of it. Which makes me worry any time he has to have surgery, but especially now with Covid 19 and hospitals.

Like before I am asking for your good wishes, vibes, thoughts and prayers.
