That is bizarre, but I can't really Suggest anything For it. However, you're leaves or suffering from saw damage. If you look at them under the light when it 1st starts you will see small little worm like creatures. They are very tiny but we'll grow larger as they eat . The leaves. You can just flip them off.

Lilyfinch, funny you should say Teasing Georgia. At first I was going to say, no, it's not, because I have one right next to it in that same bed, given to me by the same friend. But now, I'm wondering if I had them mixed up all this time? I'll have to wait till the one I think is Teasing Georgia blooms, but I still think the other one is. It's taller and I think the color is closer. But who knows? If I DID mix them up, I'll be back looking for an ID on the other one lol.

I have three roses from this friend in this bed, one Teasing Georgia, and I THINK an Ambridge Rose. And then this one.

I'll post pics of the other blooms for help in IDing when they bloom.

P.S. Vaporvac, just thought of something - do you use some kind of voice recognition app/software to post? Because originally your post said "soft light" (which I couldn't quite figure out what you meant lol) and now I'm thinking sawfly is awfully close to soft light hahaha!

Yes and then that or the word guessing changes what I say or write and i don't always notice.LOL! and now my new Kindle Fire erases or repeats what i write willy nilly. I had also written i thought it could be TG, but besides Molineux that is the only yellow David Austin i grow, but it got erased when I hit Submit.🙄 its easy to confuse roses. I thought I planted W Liebeszauber and they ended up being Cinderella. Now i have three! Good thing really like it.

Well, you guys might just be right! I think maybe it IS Teasing Georgia. The other rose, the one that I *thought* was Teasing Georgia, just bloomed today, and now I'm kind of wondering why I ever thought it was TG. Take a look:

Honestly, I don't remember it having this form, but I just looked up TG and the other one definitely looks more like TG than this. Which leads to my next question... what is THIS rose lol? Both of these poor roses were in the same neglected bed, and this one was always more vigorous and taller/larger, so maybe that's why I thought it was TG. Any guesses as to what it is?

My initial thought was Autumn Sunset, but only because I grow that 1 also and I'm fascinated with it at the moment! The leaves do have a similarity, but I would like to see better pictures of them to assess their shape. However, the buds on Autumn Sunset are almost red, while the buds on your unknown rose are decidedly not red.

Not sure if I confused folks; the rose in my last post is a second rose, not the same as the first rose. I'm guessing you all know that but just in case I am mixing people up I thought I should clarify.

P.S. How can the same rose look so different? I did a quick search of Autumn Sunset and some photos look like mine, others look nothing like it. I suppose people can misidentify things, and some hits in the search may not be at all related to Autumn Sunset, so I do need to do more research, but they sure don't make it easy lol!

I'm sticking with autumn sunset on the basis of your most recent pictures of your second post. The leaves are extremely distinctive and large. On HMF pictures, look At the second page back right hand column for badger's picture , 3rd down. The leaves are The same. Also look at 3rd pg Anonymous pic and 4th pg Gshellrude, top pic.

I grew many of this rose from cuttings last year and studied it closely since I had my tags confused. If you fold the leaves down they will be the same Top to bottom side to side aka medial symmetry, If that makes sense.

P.S. Thanks for reminding me about HMF. I used to use it all the time and since I haven't been doing much with roses lately I forgot all about it!

P.P.S As far as the wonky roots I guess I'll just replant in it's new permanent home and hope for the best! As long as the plant seems to be growing and doing well I guess I shouldn't mess with it!
