Floof! Presents!!!
Comments (30)I've been thinking about this a lot and it's hard to choose, but I'll go with my first set of golf clubs. When I first decided to play golf, DH had some winnings in the pro shop so he bought me an inexpensive set of Rams. I took a few lessons and went out to play with a neighbor, The next year when golf season arrived, I got discouraged and gave up for that season. The following year I decided that was silly, I had an investment in clubs, shoes and a golf cart so I went back to it. I love being outdoors and spending time with good friends. The past few years I've had health issues and haven't played much golf.....this is my comeback year so I'm working my way back. Before health problems I was playing 18 holes 3 - 4 times a week. Right now I'm up to 12 or 13 hols and hope to be back to 18 holes before the season is over. It's a little difficult because I have a bad knee but I'm determined. Had it not been for that initial investment, golf would not be on my radar right now. It gives me something to strive for....See MoreFloof! Funny quirks..SO edition!
Comments (37)Annie, my SO is like that too. And he says the EXACT same thing: "I think this is done, but I am gonna leave it for a few more minutes." Luckily, the only cooking he does is grilling. And that is not often. He does it with other things too. Washing the car? He has to mix 4 different soaps in the bucket. Spraying some ants? He will use half a can of raid on 10 ants. He RUINED a batch of my scented wax cubes by waltzing in, telling me HE knew how to make them better, and dumping a ton of fragrance oil in the wax, way more than it will hold, thus ruining them. And even if they somehow managed to turn out out, I would have to sell them for 10 bucks a pack to break even on the cost! He has since learned to stay away from my cubes and candles! (unless of course, he sells them for me. He does sell quite a lot. But as far as production goes ,hands off!) However, that quirk carries over into positive things too. He is a very generous man, and good to me in all things. But man I get tired of eating dried out grilled chicken!...See Morefloof= what time do you eat on Thanksgiving
Comments (56)Due to various scheduling requests from the kids we opted for dinner at 2:00 instead of 3. It was a great decision. Everything was ready on time, the food was delicious and we ended up sitting around the table for hours enjoying the conversation. Surprisingly the 3 granddaughters (ages 4 1/2, 2 1/2 and 2) all sat together at the end of the table and happily amused each other with minimal input from parents. It was especially nice since this coming Christmas DS, DDIL and 2 DDs will be in California for the holidays visiting her side of the family....See MoreFestive Floof! Christmas Prep and plans!
Comments (42)seagrass ~ the most realistic-looking artificial tree (to me) is called the Noblis Fir (not noble, nob-lis). What I love about it is that there is excellent spacing between the tiers of branches, enabling me to hang ornaments from the tips all the way to the trunk. That was the prime selling point for me, 8 years ago or so. It may be too tall for your purposes, comes at both 7 OR 8 feet tall. And for full disclosure here, you may recall that I am the crazy eccentric who decided to keep mine up, decorated to the n-th degree, for the rest of my life -- this year is #6 and at age 78 I am still very happy about it! =) [I do so love your "name" here -- I grew up with summers in Truro, and have memories of breeze-blown sea-grasses - also of planting some with my mother to combat erosion...)...See More- 5 years ago
