I have a little situation...
Comments (19)Some years ago, I got all excited about the possibility of using vinegar mixes, or vinegar straight, as a weed-killer. I went around, quite happily, spraying objectionable weeds. (Living halfway down a hillside, which becomes wild a short distance uphill, we get some startling weeds.) The weeds won that round. Vinegar must surely kill SOME things, but nothing we get hereabouts. OTOH, you can definitely kill Huey, if you chop him to the ground, and KEEP chopping, everytime he puts up some growth. If nothing else, you can place a large rock or paver on top of him. It's quicker, of course, to dig him out, but if you're not strong enough for that, just keep at him, until he gives up. If you WANT to use Roundup, chop Huey way down. Then, take a small, cheap, paintbrush, and dab Roundup on the cut areas. You won't spread the stuff around, and you will kill the rose. I don't LIKE Roundup -- but there are limited occasions when it can be the lesser evil. Jeri...See MoreAl - may I have the recipe for crock-pot chicken curry dinner
Comments (3)I chose to start the crock pot early because I didn't have time to make dinner at dinner time yesterday. I also wanted to cook the veggies (especially potatoes) until very soft - that's how my two boys like it - also the longer the cooking time the better the flavor. I usually use potatoes (carrot/yam/rutabaga), onion, celery, or any root/stalk type of vegetables in it, depends on what I have on hand. Tomatoes do add good flavor to the curry but you can go without. If you want to incorporate more veggies cooking in slow cooker I have another idea. I use my crock pot to make lentil soup. I use red lentil because of the brilliant color. I sautee the veggies i.e. onion, parsnip/yam/rutabaga with celery and other veggies I like. Put in crock pot with water/broth/milk/juice (whatever your choice is). My family like a bit of ham in the pot so I put a small chunk of ham with a bay leaf or two, season with salt & pepper. Cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 8, until everything is very tender. Then I fish out the bay leafs and ham, puree everything else in a blender. The soup is very creamy and no veggies in sight. Slice the ham and chop up some fresh parsley and place them over a bowl of soup. Drizzle some yogurt or any dressing desired. My husband and little love this dish. I always serve it with some bread or a small salad. Al...See MoreCan I put chickens in after dogs have been there?
Comments (3)I see why you might be concurned but you needn't be. If anyone is grossed out by this, just remember that beesneeds is the one that jumped the rabbit,Klem just stayed to see where it lead to. (: Dogs and humans share several diseases and parasites so dog poo and humans don't mix. One common dog intestinal parasite pupate's in soil then enter's sole of bare footed human and live's in muscle tissue causeing disfigurement and pain. The list go's on but that one is enough to discourage dog poo in compost. Thanks to mother nature,if chickens did consume eggs and/or dog parasites, the parasite would be destroyed. If you knew what wild catfish eat daily you might never eat one again but mother nature handle's it just fine. For that matter if you watch free range chickens on a farm, they eat grain from cattle poop but the farmer and his family are not effected while consuming the chicken and eggs. Now,let's talk about your plans for other parts of the new place....See MoreMy dog might be allergic to chicken
Comments (12)It may or may not be the chicken. It could also be the rice or any other thing that you may have added. I am allergic to rice, tested and confirmed. I can eat a small amount but have problems if I eat more than that. You could see if plain chicken causes the problem then work from there. Just a suggestion but both Chewy and Amazon do ship prescription diet food. I recently ordered cat KD from Chewy. You make the order. When checking out they will ask for the name of your clinic or the zip code where it is located. It took 24 hours for the vet office to give the OK so do not expect it to be instantaneous if you need to go this route. When my baby was first diagnosed a couple of months ago Amazon and Chewy had the food for about the same price as the vet. However when I went to order because the vet's office was low on supplies there was only one vendor on Amazon who was price gouging. Some of the other places like Petsmart also can provide shipments of prescription diets....See MoreRose Pekelnicky
