Instead of running around, call the stores you shop. Ask to speak to the butcher. Find out if they have what you want. Perhaps they can chop up boneless breasts if they don't have exactly what you want.

Thanks ladies. I think I'll just defrost and marinate. I really just got a little panicky. I know how hard my daughters works at putting these gatherings together and I didn't want to mess up.

The ones I buy say cook from frozen, but I take that as you can cook from frozen. I always thaw and marinade first. The party will be great!

I’m pretty sure the reason they specify to cook from frozen is for the newest generation of cooks who want everything easy and right now.

Update on the chicken. I thawed then marinated and it was perfect (I guess since I didn't have any) because no one complained. She grilled it and hot dogs, made mac and cheese, baked beans, strawberries, watermelon and tons of chips and dips etc. There were 23 kids and 17 adults. Talk about chaos. They had rented a bounce house and a cotton candy machine so in between bouts of rain the kids were in and out of the house. It was especially nice for me since my youngest daughter and her daughter were there for the party driving 2.5 hours to get there. Oh, cupcakes for dessert.

Whoever made the cotton candy will be finding pieces of it in odd places for a while. I would swear it forms a cloud of sugar pieces that will follow you to everywhere you go for a week.

I would be more worried about being somewhere with 40 people in close contact than I would the chicken. I turned down a baby shower today for the same reason. Even though I have one shot, there's no way.
