Nice group of plants!! I have to look up Marshmallow Sky! I like the looks of it there!! The colors of Ben Venooij really stand out in the garden especially when they first open. It is distinctive!!

I'd get them out of the bags and let the roots sit in water keeping the crowns out of the water if they are going to sit for a few days.

You can just unwrap them and then put them in some vases with water. That way you can see where the crown is. Even drinking glasses will work. Bigger hostas need a bigger vase or glass As Steve says, get the roots unwrapped. It’s best for them even for the few days before planting them.

So if I remove the bag and roll down the paper towel to get it off the crown will that work? And then put them in this pot with some water under the covered porch.

Yes, get the wet paper towel off the crown and leaves. As long as the paper towel stays damp, you don't need it sitting in water. Better if the roots were free too, but that's a good compromise.

take a ballpoint pen and write the name on the tallest leaf

remove from bags ... tape if tall

dig one hole in shade ... put them all in one hole ..

water them in ...

done..

its called healing them in ... rely on mother earth.. rather than DH ...
