Just got back from Brians Botanicals
Comments (16)um... Did you actually try contacting brian thru email? ive never had much trouble any of his plants, some are magnificent, but ive heard his customer service is great... It seems borderline inappropriate to dig up an old thread and slam a reputable seller, and head it like a letter directed to brians mail. I doubt seriously he will read your remark, but certainly his customers or potential costumers will, whats your objective? ive also got to say hes been really nice to me personally, breeds great plants, that i love and so few people work with or release new varieties. in regards to an expensive mistake...without even asking what you bought i can garantee brians price was better than 90% of his competition. Competition that are selling his ppaf plants... Shipping is awful but not his fualt, he combines and packs well. Im lucky hes in my backyard! Im planning a trip as soon as I can manage it! no S/H :D Ill leave with more than I plan to buy and need to come back and get more... seriously kathryn this is gardenweb not brians site, instead of slandering him here (at the briansbotanicals fan club lol) have courtesy to let the seller make things right in private, it seems likely the problem may not have been the plants......See MoreYard Pics - for Mike and Brian in Chitown and others...
Comments (10)That CIDP is a very nice palm! It looks very healthy. I know you don't like your Queens but they are very nice...really good trunks. I hope you are keeping the two in the picture. If you keep them well fed they will stay really green and full. If you plant Coconuts around them they blend really well. I have several among my coconuts and they just flow. Does your HOA care what you do in your backyard? If not, given all the space it looks like you have, I would jungle up. My goal is to get rid of most of my grass in my back yard. I am working on completing my canopy on one side and have started building out my understory. My ultimate goal is to have a tropical garden with trails and hidden garden grotto's. Of course my DW thinks I am insane and just creating a yard that no-one but another palm nut like me would want....See MoreBrian buddy, look what I did per your encouragement! Pics
Comments (14)Hey Mikey never ever am I going to attempt to try and fix that tree it almost killed me lol . I had to pick the hottest day of the year to do it I must have struggled an hour just trying to get it out of that pot it was so heavy . It was so difficult removing the tree from the pot without destroying the pot lol and when putting it back in the pot I fell backwards with the tree in my hands . Lol did a quick scan lol to make sure no one saw the fall embarrassing . Mikey the tree in the pic is not how it looked a couple of weeks ago it was double the size I had to remove a lot of branches loaded with fruit so I can fit it in the GH, Mikey the fruit were delicious so sweet. Mikey so happy to hear that the MG is working out for you it really is terrific stuff . Is you GH ready to go ? That Meyer of yours must take up most of the space in there. Have you put up any lighting ? Mikey my GH is ready to go we put up lot's of low cost lighting in there with even more lights coming this week. Mikey Buddy I am going to be retiring this winter and I am going to be spending all my time in there hence the reason putting all the lighting up. Mikey you should see the size of a fan that was given to us its huge with almost hurricane circulation very powerful . Mikey large tree's are a pain they might look nice BUT lol. Your tree's are so beautiful have you trimmed them all yet time is running out . Speaking of time running out the geese are leaving like crazy very early for that not a good sign. What's worse they are calling for an old fashioned winter up hear that means a lot of yuck . Mikey I hope that the rain has stopped so much flooding . We jumped into fall today very cool and Friday summer again with temperature near 90 then back to fall on the weekend. Mikey you Laura and I learned something new this summer root pruning is not difficult it's not scary and it doesn't harm the tree's at all actually it makes them much healthier just look at yours amazing my friend . Hugs Buddy. Brian...See MoreBrian, if you see this, please check in)
Comments (115)Brian buddy!! I do have several planted and boy oh boy do I get humming birds and bees. Butterflies and dragon flies too with the pond. I know right? Our summers seem to be a lot alike buddy. So do our dreaded winters, can't even think of that! Sorry buddy, I was away and no access to this site. I hate using it on my phone because I can not edit anything, ugh. Brian, today its HOT and Sunday we hot 100 degrees. Monday it was 100. I went to the beach and it felt like someone pressed an iron against my skin. I tanned up withing an hour, lol Then to boot, I had to wear my mask around noon because it got so crowed that I just left. I got there at 9 when it was quiet. Next time I will take a pic for you. You should see the huge thunderstorm I saw there the other day! Lightning over the water and coming at me like a tornado. The winds stir up the sand and lift it up right into your eyes. Try 60 dollars to park. I parked at the public parking area fo 12 bucks. lol Much better 2 dollars an hour. Brian buddy, it seems that Jan did on a HOT day.lol I appreciate you helping me with that. I still have to hop on that. So many need it and I keep putting it off. I know it will help them if I do. Brian, thank you for your comments on taste. I will take that to heart and ttry what you say is the best!! Thanks buddy. That is why we need you here. Always so helpful. and fun to be around. I can picture you and everyone with masks and gloves. It stinks. Yes, I have been more worried than ever before because so many are letting their guard down now and not being vigelant. They should be but not. I try my best to stay away from it. So hard when others are not playing by the rules. It stinks. It's not the actual flu that worries me, but the nasty side effects and the damage to vital organs that does. I know someone that has heart damage now and can barely walk or breath. So many sick in my city. Thank you buddy for caring. I will keep you updated. How'd you know that I have a monkey? lol I also have lizards I will be bringing that need a home. ha. Brian, Bo is the same age, I can't believe it. Yes, they say even raw food is best for a cat. They love animal organs and it's most nuttitious. I am going to try freeze dry stuff this Doctor makes for animals. It suppose to make them as if young again. I will see .lol probably finally kill a mouse for me. Hugs to you buddy. I will take pics soon, promise. Please stay in touch buddy and write. Jan and Laura, you are next, lol...See More
