How would you update this modest colonial ranch exterior
Comments (30)oh, melle..you know they now show me listings in your area, lol? probably because of these two you shared once..as an examples of what you like/dislike.. but since i didn't know your neighbourhood of preference, etc..In short I just looked at them the kitchen does look like a garage! I like the fire red, very bold of them; but layout is not easy. no countertop around the stove makes it really challenging lots of work, or so I envision bathrooms too..although it might be photos distort the places. Bathrooms are hard to shoot too they're smaller. possibilities will reveal themselves to you when there Iike the living, the backyard(possibilities!) , and the house overall is nice. I do think brick has nothing to do there. But I'd go there and feel it you know? It can be 15 things that you dislike and one you love, and that one will overweight other 15.. ah. don't mind their decor. just kinda wipe it when looking..in your mind. interesting bedroom with that step.....See MoreUsing just paint...how would you update the exterior of my house?!
Comments (4)I don’t think ”just paint” makes sense for your house because of the door next to the garage. It would be totally worth the investment to put an overhang/awning that goes over both the garage door and that lower door, like a weather portico, to diminish the visual effect that isolated door is having on the facade of your house. And then paint that door and the garage door a dark, unintersting color. Next biggest impact would be to paint your concrete foundation the darket color that is part of the brick. Invest in a solid storm door, all glass. Depending on your choice for a door color, think about a contrasting color for the metal railing....See MoreHow would you update the exterior?
Comments (9)No, Gray. It wont look good with your roof. The brick looks nice as it is. Sage isnt a favorite color of mine, but, on your house, I do think its a perfect color to go with your brick, and your roof. The biggest change you can make, will be to work on the landscaping. All those little round balls, not only look outdated, they look fake and a bit silly. You could try growing them out, but, I doubt they will ever amount to much of anything. They are all bare branches at the bottom, and its replacement time. Make sure your new landscaping has some flowering type shrubs, and plants....See MoreHelp with exterior update for 70s orange/brown brick ranch.
Comments (21)the gutters would look so much better in a copper color, especially w/that Jade color. anyway you can get them painted (or don't know if you're getting new ones) you could do the bronze/copper, or a brighter copper, address numbers and copper window boxes (You can order copper sheeting and make these yourself. or just paint a copper color. but the real stuff patinas w/time. I have a roll of super thin real copper. it's not difficult to work with) for the front door, I'd do the jade color, or even a lighter jade. If you don't want green on the trim, How about one of these Bronze colors? for the garage door I think any of the 3 would look nice some other color palettes...See MoreAustin Baker
