HELP!! Need ideas on painting my house and STUCK

I would really like to modernize the look of my house and give it that great curb appeal.

Unfortunately I am not good at trying to pick exterior colors and have been putting this project off for years. we really like the look of the new homes and would like to see what we can do. I know this house can be improved 1000% with the right paint scheme, landscaping, walkway, etc.

most of the neighborhood is the typical boring beige so I would like to give my house a fresh modern updated look. replacing the front door so that will be good statement piece.

kind of thinking of a whiter or creamier color for the body with a nice wood front door, new walkway and some good landscaping. if I went with the grey color I think it would just stand out way too much so I would like to get some ideas from folks who either do this professionally or home owners who have a similar type of house.

any before and after photos and specific paint colors would be helpful for me to visualize. i tried using the paint programs but the color is not really true to color.

White and have the roof washed when they wash the walls before painting.

Have the painters paint the front doors and garage door this faux wood paint finish.

IMO white would be my choice and then maybe instaed of wood try a adarker gray for the garge door and front door I would do both with some galss in them too.

You've got that pinkish terracotta roof tile, so that's going to limit your options. Definitely not gray, IMO. Here are a couple of Spanish-style exterior color options:

I'd consider a pale green. That works with the roof and also with your interior colors. I would not go more brown if that is not working for you already. BTW - I painted our wood siding and love the results. It had been an awful worn brown color and I painted it lavender because I could not stand it for another day. It took a ton of primer and paint to do, but the results were awesome. I know I'll either repaint later or use siding, but for now and for the coming years, it works so well. Our house went from ugly to cottage-y which is what I as trying to accomplish. When choosing the color, I wanted something that was not available as siding because with paint, you can choose exactly the color you want and are not tied to the siding mfr's palette. It would go more mainstream if we ever side it down the line. I suggest using quality paint and primer so it lasts longer before needing to be repainted. Here are the before pix (shown a few years before painting, was more worn looking) and the current look at sunset, with my cell phone, so not accurate as to the color. It is much more subtle a lavender shade where it even appears white until you notice the white trim and bricks.

You have a big job ahead! You must be excited. It is difficult to pick colors for someone else. Are you keeping your furniture and artwork? Also, I find it hard to see true colors with harsh overhead lighting. Lamplight is much more flattering to people and things. So many people are painting everything gray. It gives a home a very cool feeling. I do not ever recommend gray because I prefer warmth. It appears that you also like warmer colors. I would go with something less yellow. My " go to" color is SW Kilim Beige.

I like the ideas that are coming in. does anyone know the paint brand and color numbers?

what do you think of the color of the outside of the pottery barn stores? anyone know what color that is and how it might look on my house?

I love the idea of white with a wood door. I think it’s going to look so good painted, I know this style of home is more common where you are but nothing like this where I live so it’s really fun to see! Please post pictures when it’s done, those boxes around the windows are going to looks so great when you’re done!

I read your concern pertaining to selecting an exterior color scheme for your house; my first comment pertains to ensuring that if you're house is situated in a housing development which includes HomeOwners' Association (HOA) and community approved standards, consult your HOA management; many provide several approved recommendations pertaining to exterior color schemes to assist houseowners and to ease the kind of decisions you mentioned you're currently considering making. Some of the reasons for the color scheme limitations are to ensure a certain kind of community visual "compatibility", energetic harmony, and reduction of the chance of neighborhood discord and hostility. Also, you mentioned you're interested to change your front entry/exit door and I'm interested to advise you to consider long-term personal satisfaction pertaining to the coordination of the front door "finish"-style, garage door, and window trims. If your house isn't located in a community which is governed by HOA regulations, and you're interested to change the exterior without creating what might be uneasy contrast rather than complement... discuss with your neighbors their exterior colors, discover the names of their paint colors, work with a paint company specialist to find a complementary color situated in the company's color palette offering; usually paint companies organize color "fan-decks" by color saturation and density... enabling decision-making processes via visual spectrum gradation and graduation.

I like the color of your house. I would be looking to pick a pretty but very pale pastel for a trim, while trying to keep away from nursery combos. I think I would simply leave the garage alone (and not outline it in a new trim color). Not sure what I would do with the door, but I would be very mindful of the steps leading to it and make whatever goes on the door in harmony with them.

It’s a pretty house. I’d probably paint the wood fence the same color as the house, but no biggie (who wants to keep painting a fence?). Wouldn’t do much landscaping other than maybe to plant low-to-the-ground masses of pansies in season.

PS: One thing I like about the color of your house right now is that it is makes your house look bigger next to the darker pink-er house next door. If you change to a color that is a bigger contrast to petal pink you might lose that.

Roof color is important in making your selection, so you may want to have it washed first to determine its true color. As it is now, I would lean toward beige/tan similar to the foundation color.

keep the ideas coming!

thinking of a whiter or cream color for the base. the door could be a nice wood finish or something like an accent color. tried using the visualizer tools but the color is not true to color so it's hard to see what the end product would look like. earth tones, sand color, beige not sure as every house on the neighborhood is kind of beigy.

please include the brand and paint numbers.

For white I’m now obsessed w sherwin Williams snowbound . It’s a low LRV white, creamy but no yellow as it lends more to an orange hue.
