My joy about my windows was short lived. The hunky guys that installed the windows cracked one of the big ones. Granted it was or is a small crack BUT those babies cost a lot of money. I called the company but they didn't call back today, I'll try again tomorrow. My sis and BIL came and moved my wicker porch furniture to the sun room today. We also gathered up all the garden torches, shepherds crooks, etc. and put them in one place. My sweet sis is also storing my garden tools and equipment til I can get a garden house built. Katrina's bathroom gets tile tomorrow. Suzy your place sounds like a heart song. You know one of those places that makes your heart sing on any day. I wondered if anyone would notice the guys. People were slowing down and looking at it today when we were there. Gloria, I'll have to have the driveway done sometime soon. Not looking forward to that.

Glass block can look very busy. My advice would be to keep the tiles very simple. I googled for pictures-personally, I like the ones in the 4th row where the tile is about the same size as the blocks and there is little to no trim/ borders. My husband and I have a vent like opening in our glass block bathroom window. It is the measurement of four of the glass blocks and looks like it was cemented in when the glass blocks were placed in to make the window. It is realy old and lets in a lot of air even when shut. I was wondering how hard it would be for my husband and I to replace it ourselves to save money. I was thinking I would knock it out, purchase a new vent window, and place it in with spacers and then recement. Any advise would be great. (I even thought about repacing it with just glass blocks because we will be intalling a bathroom fan to vent to the outside for the first time.) What do you think???? THANKS

Lori, when I went into the paint store, I asked them which colors were exterior/interior and she said any color can be either exterior or interior. Colors are not always well marked for exterior application. If she would have tried to mix that full spectrum, Color Stories color in an exterior base the computer wouldn't have let her do it. Color Stories colors are exclusive to Aura interior. It's noted in the Color Stories fandeck but not individual chips. I've had several clients reach out to me because they chose a CSP color for exterior and couldn't get it and they wanted me to find a comparable regular color. Which isn't easy for 2 reasons. The CSP colors are full spectrum and many of the CSP colors fill in empty pockets in the Benjamin Moore color collection. So it's unlikely you're going to find a similar color in BenM and most BenM paint store people know better than to try to color match a CSP color in an exterior base. It's easier to just find another color. just curious what to look for as an exterior color if I should need to go back Definitely don't talk to the same person when you go back. :) Always ask if the color is rated for exterior. Especially if it's a blue. Double especially if it's a dark blue. For example, they need to confirm if your blue is rated for exterior and should then proceed to let you know that blues fade faster and need repainted sooner. And if it's a dark blue, that dark colors absorb heat, retain moisture more than lighter colors, and are harder to touch up. Lighter colors last longer and fade less than dark colors. Dark exterior colors are dramatic and beautiful but they come with baggage.
