Windows in Master Bedroom-What Would You Do?
Comments (5)Long wall with three closely spaced windows on a that wall? In the US, north facing walls get no direct sunlight. That means any light coming in that side will basically be reflected light. Locating windows as you plan will make the room ends dark and dismal. Example: Our house has the longest living space wall on the north side of the house. There are three rooms on that side. A bedroom with two west facing windows and a north facing window. The center office with one north facing window. And the living room with two north facing windows about 6" apart and basically centered on the wall and four east facing windows side by side. At any time of the day, the darkest room---no inside light shades/curtains open---is the office. To work there requires a light. No lights are necessary in either of the other rooms until dark. But, the reason is the east and west facing windows. The north facing windows are noticeably darker....See MoreWhat do I do with this odd shower/window placement?
Comments (6)We have a very similar layout in our bathroom. We are doing a 3.5x4' shower & eliminating the tub all together. Our tub is right under the window with a tiny little shower in the corner where your tub is. We are taking the shower all the way to the window. This will not be a "dream" bathroom for us, but we are on a budget & this fits the budget best. We are not willing to put $20K into our bathroom at this point....See MoreFurniture placement - what would you do?
Comments (10)Looks comfy. I'd opt for a rug as big as the area covered by the sliders to really ground all of the seating. Keep it 12-18" from the hearth. I don't like any of the sofas except maybe the 3-seater. The sectionals look to be poor quality in the photos. I would use a tall piece of casegoods on that wall unless you have an amazing piece of meaningful art to hang 5" above the buffet. Great blown up photos of the kids is another option for the great room. Black and white, sepia or colored can work....See MoreWindow Treatment Bedroom (window placement)
Comments (13)I would switch the two dressers so the longer one is under the TV which you should lower some. Dress the two windows alike; completely cover them with lined drapes matched to the wall color and hung ceiling to floor. The windows don't look like they provide you with much light anyway and really need to be hidden. Then stand your floor mirror in the other corner. Move the slipper chair in the corner by the floor lamp. Remove the bench/luggage rack to another room....See Moredecoenthusiaste
