New build selection recommendations

I need help making selections for a new build. Exterior is traditional but we want to keep interiors as modern as possible. Would love some recommendations for below items:

1. I know brushed nickel is contemporary vs oil rubbed bronze but what do you suggest regarding combining two? For door hinges and light fixtures, bronze and for faucets, door handles, knobs and pulls, brushed nickel?

2. Going with white cabinets and white quartz counter tops, need recommendations for backsplash

3. Going with very dark hardwood floors and white paint for the walls, any recommendations for (we have option to choose 3 paint colors, not deep base, flat finish)

a. ceiling paint color in the 2-story living room? Has double tray ceiling

b. Accent wall paint color in master bedroom?

c. Office room paint color

d. Bonus room

e. Toddler boy bedroom

d. Guest rooms

4. Accent wall stone color for fireplace and the style (stack vs ledge)?

From Architectural Digest: Painting First Is a Big Decorating Don’t!

What's the first thing you should do when you're moving into a new home? Ten times out of ten, people are going to tell you to get the painters in there. You'll be so happy you did it before all the boxes and furniture arrive and it gets harder to maneuver around things, they'll say. But they're completely ignoring the period of time after that, when your stuff is in the space and you realize none of it looks exactly right with the paint color you chose. The dove-gray rug you just bought appears downright dingy in there. But the idea of painting again? Ugh. So you start looking for a new rug—and looking, and looking, and looking. The reality is you should've done it the other way around, says Dee Schlotter, PPG senior color marketing manager.

That's right, your best bet is to paint after all else. "Paint colors are virtually unlimited and you can tint to nearly any paint color that you would like," Dee explains. "Once the decor elements are considered, you can match your paint color or choose a complementary tone from the other colors in the home’s palette." There's a method to this madness. First, grab a fan of paint chips and select a few shades that pick up on colors in your furniture and accessories, like the curtains. They don't have to be the main colors, either. "For example, your perfect paint color may be an aqua tone in a thin thread running through your fabric," says Dee.

The builder may be looking ahead to possibly save you additional cost and delay. If a large and/or heavy fixture needs to be attached to something in addition to the electrical junction box, you might need some additional structure above the ceiling, or in the walls for sconces, to mount it to. It's a lot easier to put it in before the sheetrock goes up.

I’m not sure I haven’t deleted anything. I do take everyone’s comments seriously but some of the things people were pointing out cannot be changed right now or we don’t want it to be changed. Thank you for pointing out the cabinets I will look into it for sure. I’m very confident that our house will be built to our standards we have walked through many of our builders homes and have even talked with past customers who say they love their homes and the craftsmanship that was put into it. When it comes to contentment it is partly that for sure at least for my husband and I. When you see houses or interiors you wish you could have but at the end of the day know you cannot afford it you do have to be content. There was a home plan from our builder that we absolutely loved but no way we could have afforded it so we looked at every other plan they had until we found this one that was in our budget and loved equally. It won’t be the biggest fanciest house in our subdivision but it works perfectly for us the way it is. When I asked about changes I meant interior color choices or our carpet, tile, quartz etc...not layout changes or anything like that because we don’t have the budget for that nor do we want it changed so I guess I should have been more clear. I get that everyone’s advice here is invaluable and I’m glad I was given it and I do appreciate it. But we are keeping our home the way it is.

First choose one color for all the walls if after you move in you want to change a wall color do it yourself. Most builders will only paint one color anyway. Where does the need for the blue come from? You will need a backsplash unless the counter material is already going to be the 4” piece above the counter. If you want help post pics of the choices up till now. Blues are bverydifficult to work with BTW and I would stay from blue based grays unless you have sepcific pieces that you can show us that are in the blue family.So alittle more info from you before even beginning to suggest color for walls. Dallas white can have many different colors in it so take pictures of your slabs you have chosen and post those for sure. Do not let the builder choose your slabs

No one can help with colors on the net and what you are doing is like finding a necklace ( shutters) and looking for a dress (your whole exterior) to go with it . Choose the right white and ten choose shutter color it will make your life much easier
