Comments (30)i've been reading all your great comments on brugs, i'm growing a few myself here in saskatchewan, all of mine were just loaded with blooms but then we got this cold snap and i had to put them in our heated garage. i noticed a couple of them are really blooming out , and this is a first time for me ever seeing a brugmansia bloom . i was wondering if the ones that will open will develope a seed pod ? i was wondering if anyone would have any pink or other colored brug seeds to share, i believe my brgs will b white. i'm so excited that i can hardly believe that i planted mine from seeds that i got from a brug forum she had seeds to share. sorry for all the questions but i'm new at this. elma...See MoreWANTED: Annual Southern Ontario Plant Swap/London and Area

Comments (6)I'm inclined to think it's a member of the Lonicera genus, a bush honeysuckle, not Symphoricarpos, for a few reasons. The Lonicera flower, like yours, seems to have longer, more flaring lobes, and look less pink, than the Symphoricarpos. The Symphoricarpos, in addition to having a tighter, bell-like, structure seems to have a fleshier flower (although I'm inferring that from pictures). Also Symphoricarpos seems to have a larger and more prominent ovary at the base of the flower. Check out the link below for comparison -- I think it looks quite like yours. Of course you can wait till later in the season to see what the berries are like. If they're red, it's not snowberry. Here is a link that might be useful: Bush honeysuckle...See MoreBrrr... pips from a central part of southern Ontario
Comments (22)Wow, Josephines167! That is gratifying. I am looking forward to the years my hostas will leap and have an increase in pips. After your pip count it must feel so gratifying to see such increases... at least I would feel that way- as if the hostas are thanking me with pips for last years "TLC" given to them. :) I am located in the cusp of zone 4 and 3. According to the houzz zone finder it says I am in zone 3, however I have always checked with other Maps and my area usually is Zone 4 at the borderline. As for extra work with hostas... it's ok, I like to fuss over them, too. I will have to repot my containers with better structured soil (more coarse to prevent rotted roots). Currently, I am reluctant to set them outside... I do not trust the weather yet. lol I have a sneaky suspicion that once a good set of leaves are unfurled there will be a cold snap and I would be racing to bring all the pots inside... or that I would have neglected to check the weather that one day and I would sadly find out the next morning when I am looking at mushy leaves. Murphy's law, etc. Back to your pips... Excellent increase and looking forward to the eye candy photos this year! *I will confess that I have lurked for so long - over a year- drooling over everyone's hostas. Love them. :)...See MoreGreg Worrel
